People, this is exciting. The trip to Europe this fall is almost ready to be scheduled. When ur coordinating with several people on a fairly extensive trip, it can be daunting--especially, when ur meeting them there and not flying together.

Leaving in the beginning of September. Flying to Madrid for 7 nights. Then flying to Rome and will take the high speed rail to Florence (too much hassle flying into florence and the high speed rail to Florence is only a little over an hour. Will spend 10 nights in Florence. People, Florence is incredible. One of my favorite cities in the world. I could spend 10 years here. In fact, I may see about moving here for 6 months to a year.

Then back to Rome for 4 nights. Rome is a huge metropolitan city and it's just "okay." It does have my favorite restaurant in the world (fortunata) and one of the best clubs where I'm/we're good friends with the owner and several employees. It's been 3 years since I've been because of that d.a.m.n. covid.:-x

Then fly to Paris for 5 nights for some Parisian "hospitality."

Then back home to sit around for 2 months waiting to head to SE Asia (Bangkok/Phuket) for 2 months. If everything works out all right, I'll celebrate New Year's Eve in Bangkok.:)

Sorry, people. I know this is of little concern to you.:D But I've been locked up going on 3 years because of covid. Losing this much of your life at my old age:D is disparaging because there's no time to get it back. I'm really pumped... but I am also leery.

afternoon, people & tibby.:)

off to the gym.

Yikes Bear, hope the cats settle down
Not CATS... just an analogy.

So, of course and expected, Dad has zero recollection as to WHY his
roommate has gone away. Doesn't even remember another person
in the same room with him for over 3 months.

Sigh. :?:

But it looks like more than just a "trial separation". That side of the room
is completely devoid of stuff... bric 'n brac 'n knick 'n knack 'n things
all gone. Closet and drawers still have clothing, but it just happened
yesterday.

It's hard, Bear. Dementia? (I'm sorry I don't recall the specifics in your Dad's case).
Yes... gradual and tolerable for a while until it just simply
took hold, accelerated VERY quickly, and where we are now,
with no sign of even a plateau. It's difficult.

I have no problems with his care, attention or communications
from "the home" at all. None. That's the good thing. It's just
too bad the general environment is trou de merde. Tiburonfirst
can translate that for you.

ONLY saying. Had a good chat with her and we agreed to a course of
action for this kitty.

EDIT and PS: My FB profile is sorta kinda locked up tighter than a you-
know-what in a you-know-what during below-freezing weather.So, don't
even bother.

so it's a done deal, bear?
It's done in that I am sponsoring his care, regardless.

Once he's recuperated from anything (ie: dental), then I will bring him home.
Oh, and passing bloodwork tests and the biopsy. We know he does not have
FIV or FeLV. Blood tests to be sure he's OK for anesthesia for dental work,
and nothing major with kidneys or thyroid.
