Oh, and forgot...

Washing machine... drum locked up on Saturday and
threw an "E59" error. Well, the thing is over 11 years
old and first real problem. (And I looked it up and I know
what to check.)

However... it's on an extended warranty/service plan,
so it must be repaired by an "authorized" person. First
available date: October 6th.

OK... not a life-or-death emergency, laundromats and all.
Nor is it a fridge with spoiling food. But yeah... SEVENTEEN
DAYS for a service call. Plus, if a part is needed that they do
not have in stock, that adds who knows how much more
time.

Grrr.
OK... I believe it's the motor.

Disconnected water lines and power... heaved the machine
out from the wall... removed back panel... removed drive belt.

WHY SHOULD A WASHING MACHINE BE SO HEAVY???

Drum now spins freely.

Motor pulley will not spin, seized. Even with channel-lock
or vice-grip.

Therefore: motor.

Dealt with warranty organization and got a September 29
date with another service. Canceled October 6.

I am POSITIVE they simply HATE people who try to DIY. But
maybe this piece of info will help get it fixed on the first
visit. I am ONLY trying to help. That's how I am. I have the
1974-1986 electro/mechano/hydraulic/pneumatic
background. I'm not stupid. I sorta-kinda know what I
am doing.

I could PROBABLY order a new motor and put it in myself.
Two bolts and a power harness. Oooo! Scary!!! But, I've
paid into the extended warranty thing. They will not
reimburse ME to DIY.

I agree.

I still do not know how the yellow jackets are getting in.
But they are.

No clue where the dead bird is, but it's here someplace.

And
And
And

Nothing is being solved. Everything just piles up.

Wait 2 weeks.
Wait 3 weeks.

I just want to check something off the list.

It was NEVER "weeks" pre 2020.

Weeks.

"Understaffed". How are people earning an income?
Where is their money coming from???

Unemployment is decreasing.. but companies are
"understaffed".

It makes no sense to me at all.
