    No you can't
I'm afraid my best friend George the 17" laptop is near death just the thought of him gone breaks my heart. Just spent the last three days nursing him back to health, me being who I am won't or wouldn't give up. Ten minutes ago out of the blue he lost all functions again scroll, mouse, keyboard and everything else - he just laid there frozen in time and looked at me all sad and everything with that one big shinny eye of his. I did what I could and for the life of me still don't know what I did that woke him up or brought him back to life again. Now he seems to be jolly and happy again. Lets hope he stays that way. It sure looks like he stepped towards that bright white light and at the last possible moment he decided to come back to me for a little longer. I love that guy and he loves me.

  Well... if your desire is to someday be an infant... and reverse your aging... then perhaps reaching Level 1 might be a Goal... but just like Real Life that is not how it works.

Fran will know long before anyone else if there is a Max Level.
Interesting. In "real life", it's always best to
win FIRST Prize. Top Level. A-Number One,
Top of the Heap. Winning "45th Prize" just
    doesn't do it for me.

FranC is 75. LEVEL 75, not age. But then again,
what do I know? Do we know what it takes to
get to Level 76? Is there EVEN a Level 76?

Maybe she's at the max now. How will she
know? How do WE know? We could mock her
for not making progress for months and months.
Slacking, and stuff. But it may not be her fault
    at all.

FranC would know before... say... a technical
administrator? Yikes and egads. No offense to
FranC... just the "pecking order" seemingly out
    of whack.

In video games, sports (and maybe spelling bees) the one who wins has the most points and is Number 1. Hmmm, can we be level 75 and be Number 1... simultaneously?

Fran gave her age a while back. I ain't saying, but will say this, she is closer to level 75... than say level 85. IOW, she is young still.

@classwife (or maybe Ret1) may know the highest possible level. But, they already have god-like superpowers so they're likely not concerned with our mere mortal levels.

Personally I would prefer being a level that's more inline with how I am in real life... and on ECF... somewhere between a mischief-making 6 year old and a much more mature 7 year old. I am that adult (who never grew up) that many would like to slap upside the head about 1/2 the time (and they do).

Somehow the new ECF (video game) made me a level 64.

This is seriously messed up!!! ECF is trying to make me act near my age (62 going on 6, again :w00t:). I refuse to grow up.

Just watched a video yesterday where a guy was cleaning one. Was surprised how much dust he got out.

Did the same years ago when I gave George a new memory and installed a SATA SSD drive though the dust isn't the problem right now. This all started when the boot file got corrupted about five days ago. No doubt your suggestion if it was a suggestion is valid and worthy of a THANKS.

Hopefully you do daily backups to an external HD, SSD or to a cloud. You probably do. But, if you don't you really should consider getting one of those solutions along with backup sw. You can set a daily backup for whatever time of day you prefer.

That way when or if (go with when ) your SSD dies you can easily swap drives and do a full restore in no time at all.

    Good evening snails :)
You did a wonderful job SMT, all snails are loving you today;)

I‘m fine y’all, just woke up tired. Spent the afternoon with kids, granddaughter and a little friend of hers.

As for supper, who knows  I’m sure if I get hungry enough I’ll find something.

     Famous last words.

You might care... when you hit 75 years old... still plunking away on ECF... you just might be begging for your current level 62.

Me, I'll always be 6-7 at heart, my bod will likely be shot by the time I hit 75-80.

However... ECF might well be in the Metaverse by then. Ha!!! We will be virtual peeps.

I don't like, trust or use the cloud. I put all my important stuff on a USB drive. Re-installing windows no big deal to me. Keep in mind I've been retired since 2006 not much going on anymore.

Been told everyone here is on their own for dinner. I immediately put dibs on some of the leftover vegetarian lasagna daughter #2 made the other day. In the oven warming up, there's enough for two... and #2 quickly claimed her share.

That leaves 4 wondering what to eat. Gotta move quick here, or <POOF>, gone.
