Good morning Snails....Chilly here, but nice days. Great fall weather. Hope y'all are doing well.

@Territoo , I have been wondering for quite some time now if you are still in Texas? And IF so, what time do you get up? You don't seem to go to bed super early. Hoping you don't have sleep problems. They are horrible. Been struggling with that for several years, but, just lately, I am getting a little more sound sleep. Sometimes I have to take a pill. And I have crazy hours. I could go to work with Atty!!! I know Dale struggles sometimes, too. But I see you on here at all hours and was just wondering.

Have a good day.....off to the eye doctors this morning for a checkup.

Good morning Kat. You're right, I do have sleep issues. I'm normally a night owl, but lately I also wake up early. I could stay up all night and get my best sleep from 6am to noon. I once worked a job that allowed me to do that and it was great. I worked from 7pm to 7am, took my daughter to school, and went home and slept. Being retired now, I theoretically could do that, but with so many daytime activities, it doesn't work out.

    Yes, I'm still in Texas.

It's that time for me snails. I only get about 6 or so hours of sleep a night most nights, so I try to make up for it on other days.
My schedule is to be up at 4 am M-Th, and 3 am on Fri...work until 2 or 1 on Fri, then go to GF's on M-Th until 8 pm (care giving). So I get home at 8:30 pm many nights (sometime I can cheat it) and I make up for it on Friday where I get off work at 1 and go home and crash. Saturday I have "hours" there too. I'm looking to change that, and get Thurs night "off".

So anyway, I get sleep when I can get it. BUT....when I do have a lot of time, I find that I don't usually sleep as long as I used to as I get older. So what I do is a "2nd sleep". It's an old tradition, used to be common in the postindustrial era. You sleep for however many hours your body lets you, say 5, and if you wake up you get up. It's the middle of the night, sure. But you study something, or read a book, or whatever for a while. Then you take your "second sleep" and sleep for a few more hours. Or naps later in the day.

Melatonin may help too. I've been known to do that.

Goodnight snails, however many sleeps you need.
