Yeah but you're right too. Because the watts are divided per coil. So 5 watts total, 2.5 per coil. Which would be too cool. That's why you need the higher voltage range. The 13.8888 watts = almost 7 watts per coil. Much more realistic.

That's 2.7 amps needed. Some devices won't power that, but most APVs and all the mechs would.

(Caffeine helps me to think and type more.)

AHA!!!!

Yes, caffeine helps! I was calculating for 3.6Ω coils--that's how I arrived at 2.5 watts. So, my question still stands--do you think they may be configured in series? You see, the wattage for 1.8Ω coils makes more sense than for 3.6Ω ones. They recommend 3-5 volts...

And I already saw Aspire replacement (dual) coil heads rated at 2.1Ω. Hmmmm....

Anyone?

Long gone :(

Although, I'm thinking about crepes...apple and/or creme cheese. But will probably just have toast. lol. Just not feeling it today. Have a bunch of apples I need to do something with, but my get up and go...got up and went over to Fran's (or somewhere not in my location).

My mom used to make them when we were kids...

I know it's funny, but do you realize how many pets get injured and killed (or cause injuries to other pets and humans) daily because they are off leash? I hate people who let their pets roam off leash. The animal control guy was right--you have to have control over your animal at all time. Our friends lost their dog recently--the dog darted after a rabbit and was hit by a car. In front of them, their kids, and a bunch of other passers by. That was horrible.

If it says it's 1.8 ohms and you think there are 2 x 3.6 ohm coils then it has to be in parallel.

Besides ....I don't know how you call 2 coils in series a dual coil. Because that's really 1 coil...with a flat spot in the middle. lol

I don't know either--that's why I'm asking you. Because you're the expert. It's just that the specs make more sense if we have two 1.8Ω coils, but I don't know if that's even feasible--electrically speaking. Can they be configured independently from one another?

If those coils are indeed 3.6Ω each, 2.5 watts (3 volt manufacturer's recommendation) makes absolutely no sense. You can't vape anything at 2.5 watts...

Well, you're correct that it doesn't make a lot of sense at 1st glance. I suppose they could use really thin gauge wire and get it hotter faster that way (kinda reverse-SLR) but they would burn out easily.

I assume you were correct the 1st time (two 3.6 ohm coils = 1.8 ohm DC carto). But I have no way of knowing.

I thought you said 3-5 volts. 5 volts would make sense.

Dual coils in series are....wrap a coil....leave a straight wire gap...continue wrapping another coil....

so ___////___////___

which is basically ___////////___ when you close up the gap.

And I didn't mean YOU "you" I meant you "they". ;)

i decline! unless they have at least 6 eggs with the egg whites beaten stiff and folded under ;)

OK, I'll "bite" :)D) What's the real German name for them? So I can look up a video recipe with egg whites beaten separately.

They look good the way the recipe is written though, Kat.

You are of course correct--I didn't even read the recipe... I just grabbed the first one from the Internet

It is an abomination. And the egg whites need to beaten separately and gently folded into the batter. :)

Exactly! That's what all the others duals look like--one wire!!!! Trust me, I've dissected plenty. But if you watch the video, those two coils Phil is extracting from the coil head look like they are not on the same wire--what I see are two separate coils, two separate wires.... But I don't know how they are configured--I'm not an electrician... :D

I just don't get it.

Atty, you can use any recipe for German (or Dutch) apple pancakes you like--just add an extra step of separating the eggs and beating the whites and adding them to the batter at the last minute--it makes the pancakes fluffier.

I also always separate my eggs (and beat the whites) when I bake--it makes every batter light and fluffy.

Well....It probably had 3 "leads" really (the other dual coils). Lemme see if I can explain/draw.

Series is as drawn above.

Parallel is

... ___////______
_/.......................\____
..\___////_______/

They share a common ground, and a common starting point (the center post) but the inputs are through the coils separately. (Ignore the "."'s above)

vs
____////_____////____

I'll stick to pancake recipes. :D

Above my pay grade...

Thanks for trying to explain, though! I really appreciate your valiant efforts.
