I was looking up "Who invented the French Dip?" and then found a reference to the Weck. Was curious. That place looks OK, but they just had "new menus coming soon" so who knows! lol.

I've eaten at a NY sandwich shop once or twice on a business trip. (Pastrami...kind of an unwritten rule that you have to try it when visiting NY)

Yes. I was surprised...do you think it might be something other than rust????

Just one. I don't know if it was a "true" Beef on Weck, though. It's apparently quite specific. I went here: Mile End Deli

not sure - but the rumors of ''better'' stainless v2 make more sense now!

Tons of great sandwich eats in NY :thumb: Best Pastrami, IMO, is Katz's Delicatessen | We ship nationwide. Order online now.. I even order it (and pay for overnight shipping!!) for family for the holidays.

You'd better like it at those prices! Hokey Toot! Hope locals get a discount.

However, I've always been impressed that the sandwich didn't shrink, just the price when up. Still about a pound of meet in a full sandwich! (well, IDK the real amount, but wow).

I understand why the good pastrami is expensive though. Lots of work. Beef is expensive. Looks good.
