G'morning, snails!

I know, a bit late...got caught up doing actual work when I got in this morning.

I am quoting Tiburonfirst.

It *LOOKS* like I am quoting Tiburonfirst.

Let me know if I need to CLEAR MY CACHE, DELETE COOKIES and RELOAD MY BROWSER. Seems to be the cure-all for any internet ills.

I have to admit, when I saw the first use of the above, I was amused. When I saw it the second time, I was a bit confused. But seeing it the third time made me LOL in my cubicle when it was all but silent all around me.

Thank you bear, that was just the "spice" I needed in my life. :D

Now to wait for the dryer repair guy.

Speaking of dryer repair...

...an extended warranty renewal notice arrived for the washer and dryer (purchased in '11, original extended warranty to '14... renewal until '17). It peels my potatoes to renew it ($399 including tax)... I RARELY buy into those things. But considering it has a "full replacement" guarantee (replaced with current comparable models, plus full parts and labor and installation) and the pair was $1800 plus tax, I'll do it one more time. My guess is that the next renewal will cost even more... and by that time I'll just take my chances unless one or the other is beginning to show problems or age. They still look and operate like brand new. But if you opt out, then the warranty is never offered again. Sez so.

Yeah Bear, they have ya either way. Mostly, they offer the warranty when it's new and working fine. lol. ;)

Rarely it pays off. Mostly, they make mega $$$$ from it. The only extended warranty I purchase is a new car because so much crap goes wrong with them these days (Got a new computer module for "free" with mine one time...when it was still under 5 yr 100K...paid for the warranty right there. A lot of em are standard for that long now.)

So good luck. IDK if that means I hope it never breaks, or that I hope it breaks within warranty and you get your $$$ worth out of the repair.

I *always* get an extended warranty on cars. Always. The one I bought for the Charger is "lifetime"... literally for as long as I own it. No time limit, no mileage limit. ($50 deductible per "incident"). I've recouped about half the cost already with two front-end services and replacing 4 valve stems with pressure sensors. It's a given that upcoming repairs will "pay for" the warranty.

I've never gotten the extended warranty on a car. Of course, I drove my first new car for 16 years, and my second new car for the past 6. I opted out of all of the optional fancy electronics on this one. I have to lock the doors and roll down the windows by hand.

Does the lifetime warranty cover being sideswiped?

No. "Accidental" damage is not covered. However, any rust-through *is* covered through 10 years... it's the only thing that makes it a "limited" warranty. Oh... and any parts that "naturally" wear out are not covered. I would not expect wiper blades and tires for life. I'm not THAT demanding!!! :)

is anyone at all surprised that once the dryer repair guy got here, almost two hours after the scheduled time, he took a look at the dryer and model number and said that he needed to replace the board? If they'd have let me give them the model number when i called in they could have ordered it yesterday. Oh well. I didn't really want to to any laundry this weekend. ;)
