nobody is gonna clear up that mystery, bear! best to move on and keep your fingers crossed it'll work out for you somehow!

Oh... I don't know. Scandals have a way of coming to light sooner or later. But "sooner" would be better if there is something illegal going on and we could have some sort of satisfaction seeing somebody actually pay for their misdeeds. Statutes of limitations can take that joy away.

One stuck nut cut/pried off. I now have the critical part that was missing and not on the parts diagram that I can find (A spacer/washer that doesn't come with the new parts)....

Anyway...Could get a replacement for the other side one so I don't have to cut that RECESSED nut off the other axle. Putting stuff back together.......

Broke almost everything I had using 1,000's of ft/lb or torque. Bent some really good stuff, broke breaker bars, broke some wrenches (because I'm stupid and without a spare car too) used up a lot of a propane torch, bunch of penetrating oil, had all sorts of "fun". The local stores don't even sell 3/4" drive breaker bars. Sigh. Finally sacrificed a 1/2" extension and put Grandpa's 100 year old pipe wrench on it. Wrench didn't break. Now THAT'S a wrench.

No. Or I'd probably be done by now. Believe me. It's been a very "walk away and bother Tibby on the internet" type of project.

Why do you ask? Because my breaker bar and a few wrenches broke? Nah. The car has 16+ years on it. Those bolts are nearly fuzed. It just takes time. And patience. And tools that hold up. And torque. LOTS of torque. And heat. And cutting (In a recessed area.). And patience. Lots of patience.

And to my credit.... I didn't break off a single bolt.
