OK... so I sent a note back to Cherie that said:

Hello Cherie...

Thank you for the reply!

I have to say that the Hugging Bears sculpture is a bit beyond what I
have budgeted for the garden project I'm having done this Spring.

Would you bounce back with a price for a "Hi Bear" or the "Welcome Bear"
as seen on your chainsawchick.com site?

Thank you so much!!!

...and she replies with:

"What's your budget?"

How would YOU read that???

My first response was "how terse" and "I must be a pain".

Then I thought, maybe she'll let me have "hugging three-footed bears" for whatever my budget is.

Then I thought if I tell her what my budget is, she'll make suggestions as to what is available.

Thoughts???

(This is MY "Verizon" drama.)

I'm pretty sure she wants to know how much she can get away with charging....or where to start the bargaining.

tell her half of what you could spend....

Tell her your budget FOR THE BEARS part and stay firm on that $$$. The rest is none of her concern. CES may be correct at the "start with 1/2 your budget as an offer"...but she could be insulted too so you have to phrase it properly and let her know its a negotiation. Careful.

I'm not about to get into a haggling match. It's a GARDEN ORNAMENT :rolleyes rolleyes:, not a house... or even a car. And I will not (repeat: not) go higher than I can comfortably afford.

I did have an idea of offering to re-do her chainsawchick.com site in barter for the bears. (I did website construction as part of a past job position.) It's a pretty simple point-and-click site... and it's really a mess as it stands. But then I thought about what a can of worms it may open... dealing with diva-ness (hers, not mine! :) ) and eternal suggestions and changes going forward.

What DRAMA, really. :glare:

By the way:

Kodak loss up 80 pct in 2012 as sales fall 20 pct

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Eastman Kodak Co., the photography pioneer that's under bankruptcy protection, on Monday said its loss nearly doubled last year due to the cost of converting itself into a slimmer company.

The Rochester, N.Y., company said it lost $1.38 billion in 2012, 80 percent more than the loss of $764 million the year before. Excluding reorganization costs, the latest loss would have been $308 million, Kodak said.

Revenue was $4.11 billion, a 20 percent decline from the previous year.

Kodak, once the dominant supplier of photographic materials in the U.S., failed to transition gracefully to the world of digital imaging. Shrinking sales pushed it into bankruptcy in January 2012. It hopes to emerge from court protection this summer.
Kodak is trying to refashion itself as a provider of commercial imaging products and services, and said it reduced losses in those segments in 2012.

The company LOST ALMOST 2x vs the previous year!!!

Yeah... they'll come out of Chapter 11 alright... right into Chapter 7.

I WANT MY ....ING MONEY!!! NOW!!!

that's right! tell kodak to pay up, bear! then you can afford to spread some cheer toward cherie, lol!

There is a "LinkedIn" group where I've been spouting off. It's fast approaching one year (!!! omg !!!) and I'm more bitter now than I was when I heard the words "we're letting you go". The company just KEEPS ON SCREWING UP at EVERY TURN and EVERY DECISION they make. How is it that the Board Of Directors has not ordered Perez strung up by his old-man balls yet??? I just do NOT get it!!!

... I'm more bitter now than I was when I heard the words "we're letting you go" ...

Actually, I was not bitter then. I ASKED for it, I EXPECTED it, and I GOT it. It was a relief.

The ENTIRE collapse of the company needs a deep-dive investigation by legal-types. And they need to find out how in the hell the CEO is STILL the CEO after everything that has happened. There MUST be something we do not know about.
