Running late....

Continuing (or is that continual) Saga of Sammy Snail
So Sammy goes driving around, cruising the streets. He even gets a pair of cheap sunglasses to go with it. Sure enough, a few days later, he passes Sally Snail, who is still taking occasional walks (well, slides) on nice days, to and from the store down the street.

Well, lacking a Mr. Microphone, Sammy slows the car and has to yell loudly...."Hey good look'n...I'll be back to pick you up later!". (Of course, he's planning on giving her a ride back from the store so she doesn't need to carry groceries all the way back home.) And contrary to the commercial, and the rumors, it actually worked!

She smiles AND waves at him...as he cruises off down the street, heading home to spruce up before picking her up at the local store.

(to be continued...after I confirm that Geoff got fed. Because I don't want to be in the way of that.)

That's a GOOD question Tibs....and the answer is ....they don't. But you haven't heard the whole story. Hint: Not only is this a Snail thread, but St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow too.....

Continual Saga of Sammy Snail
Sure enough, Sammy made it to the store on time and met Sally. He offered to give her a ride to back home so she didn't have to carry all those heavy grocery bags on her shell.

They put on some tunes, had the top down, and decided to cruise around a bit. "Let's see what this fancy car of yours can do Sammy!" said Sally. So Sammy heads for the expressway and "floors it."

"Yee Ha" they yell (or whatever the snail equivalent of "Yee Ha" is.) They were really moving (for a couple of snails, that is). Speeding of course.

Continual Saga of Sammy Snail
When we last left our hero, he was cruising down the expressway with the top down, Sally snail in the passenger seat of his red sports car with the fancy S stripes down the side.

Of course, as Tibby has wisely noted above they fly past the always inconvenient billboard, doing at least 20 mph over the limit, with two snail cops sitting behind it with their radar on.

One cop looks at the other. Looks at the radar speed readout. Looks back at the cop and says "Hey Clancy?" (because at least one snail cop is named Clancy, given their Irish origins and the fact that some families like to buck the "S" tradition of snail naming)
