Ahhh....mine go out into the back yard on their own. It's been years since I've needed to make sure that bladders were emptied prior to returning inside. Though that may just have changed.

OK, time to face the day. Yesterday ended with having to clean one of the lab fridges, and i left some stuff soaking over night. Means that unless someone steps up before i get there, i have stuff to wash first thing this morning.

Hope today is better for you Tibs. (((more hugs)))

Good morning Tibs

((((Hugs)))))

Atty (when you get here) how's fido doing now that he's done with his anti-dizzy meds?

Good Morning.

IDK CES....I *think* he's back to normal-ish. Maybe I'm just being more abservant of possible dizzyness, maybe I'm imagining aftereffects, but I think he's 90% back-to-normal. Maybe I'm just reserving 10%. He is walking around now getting a drink of water.

I'm afraid it's inner-ear. But IDK. Could just be the idiopathic Vestibular old dog thing like the vet said. A "who knows" cause.

This is depressing. As you know, I live in earthquake country and both my kids attended public schools. They had fire/earthquake drills every couple of months and everybody, including kindergartners, knew exactly what to do and where to go. I used to be a parent volunteer and participated myself in many drills.

I just can't wrap my head around it... One can't predict an earthquake, but a tornado? They knew it was coming...

I've said it here. Told ??Tibby??...."Dig a hole".

When an F5 is throwing cars and other houses through your house, a closet doesn't do it. You either have a basement or dig a shelter.

@Stormy - Yeah, I read it was a budget thing too. But I'm kinda taking it with a grain of salt. Sure, it's expensive but I think they should have put either basements in or shelters. Some did drown in a basement somewhere though...so it has to be water-resistant too.

The thing with blaming FEMA red tape is complete crap. In my state, almost all homes have basements. We build them with the house. We don't ask FEMA to help us build our house just because it has a basement in it. I know basements are not always possible but some shelter is and they can dang well include them in the construction costs. So it is THEIR being cheap that caused this...not the fed. IDK why they couldn't have shelters in Tornado Alley. Maybe they are blaming regulations with how to do it "properly" but...still...I think they could have had them. Sorry.

Sorry to those in OK. But I don't expect "Big Government" to design and build all your school's shelters and such...even in Tornado Alley. It's a state thing. Get it done. Blaming FEMA is not the way to go with this IMHO.

I expect there will be a rash of construction this summer at schools for shelters.

To be fair...there's a lot of schools here that don't have shelters. They use the hallways....

@Kat....they do the best with what shelter they have. They knew it was coming. However, they were in the location they were supposed to be in I guess. If the whole building gets....wiped...not much you can do. F5 is nasty. You're in a hole or....it's bad. They didn't have a hole or if they did it filled with water..... :(

EDIT: and an F5 is a rare thing...even in tornado alley. You have to build to some average standards...so I guess we "set the bar" at "withstand F5" now....
