Morning all :)

{{{{Hugs}}}} FranCy :(

Read up on my iPod earlier - then just went to go back to the previous page to make sure I was caught up and Chrome gave me a malware alert on:

"Content from images.dailytech.com, a known malware distributor, has been inserted into this web page. Visiting this page now is very likely to infect your computer with malware."

Also, to keep with the theme, I use mail.com as my 'main' email address - it's free ;). It has a "mail collector" to retrieve email from other addresses. Logged on this morning and noticed "federereqnb@aol.com" had been added to the mail collector - I haven't had an aol account for YEARS. Changed my mail.com password, deleted "federereqnb@aol.com" from the collection list, sent a message to CS.
Here's an example of the emails that had been collected from this aol email address   what the ....

My credit card bank called yesterday informing me that there were five unsuccessful attempts at fraudulent charges. 4 at $399.99 and one at under $10. All from overseas.

So now the card is cancelled... and a new one being FedExed today (but will probably arrive on Monday).

In the meantime, there will be two recurring charges that will not go through, so who knows what kind of havoc THAT will cause.

Docket today:
...finish kitchen (counters and range)
...finish trimming and mowing (back yard)
...tidy up all garden areas and unclog rear gutter lousy with maple spinners

No problem!

Tom....that's too much info for me to digest this a.m. I'll read later.

So that pic I posted of a gal drinking a BIG BEER was a problem? (was from dailytech). It was just a pic link...no code. Or was it something else posted by someone else?

:D

No idea on which was the problem - I also tried going to dailytech.com directly and got a similar malware ahead warning from Chrome.

<knocking on all the wood I can find> I haven't ever had any major problems with viruses/malware/etc and I haven't been the most careful in use of preventative measures and I've visited some shady sites over the years

I got the malware alert too- so deleted my picture from that page....chrome is sometimes hyper sensitive though.

Bummer about your email account Catt. I periodically get spam email from friends' accounts that are associated with facebook.

Lots and lots of jerks hijacking card numbers too Bear. Glad your company denied the charges. Busy day for you today. Is the dinner party tonight or later this weekend?

Just got back from taking the beasties for a walk. need to get ready for work. Meetings all morning. blech.

... and speaking of finials ...

When the deck was built in 1988, I commented to the builder about the finials that were put atop all the main vertical railing supports. You know... these things:

4x4_acorn_finial_1.jpg

He said that they were "finials that say 'Welcome'!!!".

I said that they provided overflow seating for 15!!!

:D :D :D

Bear....get a card for online use that's funded only when you need to use it. They can't steal what isn't there. I use a Walmart money card because my bank doesn't offer a better option right now. However, it costs me $3.00 per month.

Chase is VERY vigilant on charges. This is the second time they caught suspicious charges. A couple other times, charges that *I* made put up a red flag and they contacted me. I'm not too concerned. It's just the hassle of changing my info on a bunch of different sites... but this will also mean a bunch of one-offs no longer have valid card info, which is a good thing.

Looks like a lot of people are using that site to embed malware or something. Too bad. Guess I'll remove my bookmark. Sigh.

Sad, because it's kind of fun to read...a bit tabloid...but fun.
