Beef. It's what's for [bacteria in your gut's] dinner. IDK if 20% sodium+preservatives helps or not.

I looked, and each piece has 630mg of sodium (25% rda). I do not recall even noticing any salt except in the bacon wrap. I wonder how much of the 630mg is due to the bacon?

Yes, BEEF beef is absolutely preferable. I agree 100%. I am very much a carnivore [1]. But the "medallions in question" are/were really NOT all that bad... especially for the price. And who can taste preservatives???

That link (the beef article...cholesterol...not the other-Bear-kind) is an explaination of some chemical that the intestinal bacteria eat and then they make some other chemical, and that other chemical causes your body to either make more cholesterol or not get rid of it or something.

Vegetarians don't have much of that bacteria and can eat a steak and not have the other-chemical created by the bacteria. So the bottom line is that eating a low-cholesterol diet may not be as beneficial as we used to think. Yet...this is not intended to contradict doctor's advice...too new. But interesting info.

Beef is the worst for chemical-A that causes bacteria to make chemical-B. Yet it can be lean. The Beef-industry immediately began attacking the study. Maybe rightly so. But then again, they tick me off anyway because the prices are so high and their production is so low, and it's NOT all about corn prices and transport and drought. They have deliberately reduced production to keep prices high and manipulate the market, IMHO. Gosh forbid they actually have reasonable prices and make $$$ on volume.

Bear....you scared CES away.

Now TomCatt shows up.

I have a theory...
TomCatt is CES's other personality. Watch him pop in....

so if that's the case, then Catt should have gone away now that i'm back....

I wonder if I get a glucose reading of 79 if I am still alive??

ETA: Okay, what's going on? That's about the 4th post I have had to edit for spelling errors!! :glare:

That's it! my spelling errors are the forum's fault (I always have spelling errors Norie, an don't catch all of them )
