No, I mean those breaker boxes that are installed outside your house. They used to be called fuse boxes, but nobody's using fuses anymore.

We don't have basements in California--it's earthquake country. Meters and breaker boxes are outside.

I had a basement with breaker boxes once--in Connecticut.

Seriously now, I don't know why they put them outside and not in the garage, for example. But the trip outside is actually not that bad. I had to do it a couple of times and it was was better than climbing the stairs down into the dark basement. At least there is some light outside.

My garage is my basement, CES. Very few people here keep their cars in the garage.

The cars are in the driveway, the garage is for storage.
