yup - people on the bird list were scrambling to get their birds in. lots of outside aviaries in florida ..........

Moving birds that don't want to be near people doesn't sound like a good time.
Apparently my microfleece curtains work to insulate my single-paned windows pretty well. The condensation on the inside of my windows behind the curtains has frozen. I have ice on the inside of my windows. Last time it got this cold here (10 years ago) i was in a different house with with less insulation- the condensation froze then too- but that was on a window without curtains. That house didn't stay the least bit warm.

geothermal heat pumps are doing fairly well here or it might be the strip heat that's kicking in, lol. dh might not have the 78 he prefers in the family room but it's pretty close

the geothermal would be great. so would 78. My furnace is running pretty hard to keep it at 63.
I probably need to break down and get the windows replaced. It's a 100 year old house with double hung windows with the rope and counterweight system, and every window is a different size.

when you get ready for windows get a quote for kolbe & kolbe. they manufacture to size and as long as your contractor's measurements are correct you should get a perfect fit for each window.
