I almost went back to sleep for a bit...ended up getting sidetracked reading the comments on a USA today article on e-cigs instead... gave my caffeine enough time to start kicking in.

do you all remember obama's rural broadband initiative? millions of dollars spent and service, as per grant, to be offered by 4-01-12?
this is the latest reply ....... sigh
''I spoke with Michele today about our wireless product in Halifax County. She basically confirmed everything that we spoke about on the phone. The hardware vendor along with BIT is scheduled to conduct testing of the network through October 31, 2012. At that point, if BIT feels that the network is stable and we can provide a reliable , stable product that meets our quality of service standards, we will start to roll out the service. I know this has been frustrating for potential customers as well as for BIT, but we want to make sure that the product we offer will provide our customers with nothing less than excellent service.
If you are on our list of potential customers, we will contact you when the service is ready in your area. I sent her your information just to make sure you were on the list.
We appreciate your patience and interest in our service. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any questions.''
