looks like they get their money from big groups...you could donate to one of the partners and ask to it go to the shelter pet project.

The Humane Society of the United States gives only 0.7% to shelters throughout the US (source: Charity Navigator, fiscal year ending 2011).

The Ad Council scatters their money far and wide.

Maddie's Fund appears (need to do more looking) to support mostly "no kill" shelters.

sorry, got seriously sidetracked!

bear, i find it the most rewarding if i sponsor a dog/cat being fostered locally, i.e. taking over all associated expenses for that animal. i have not been doing this lately - got my hands full with a certain bunch of kittens slated for neutering/spaying on thursday ;)

Hi jj. Glad your work on the house is getting done.

Here it seems if we don't have bad luck we have none at all. Our gas heater is running in the cellar to protect our pipes and the house is toasty warm with the wood stove but we still have no running furnace. Our old furnace was easy to work on but these brand new ones are computer controlled and it seems the computer won't tell it to run. This will be resolved tomorrow one way or the other.
