I figured that $8 delivery fee is a good deal on 1 to 1.5 hours of my time of going to the store; plus the driver carried the order in to the house. Only thing I had to do was put it away.
Back from Home Depot. Why does spending money cheer me up??????? Well we didn't actually spend anything but I'm up too $5500 in have to haves including new SS fridge and stove.
Does the fee actually go DOWN with larger $$$ orders? (AKA...more tip then)?
lol Fran. $$$ goes fast with that stuff. I heard that the typical almond/beige and whatever is going out. You get black, white, or various types of stainless. So the moral was don't get a beige/almond or you won't get stuff to match it in the future. At least that's what the salespeople said. I know nuh-sink! Nuh-sink! about it really.
OTOH, huge washer dryers on pedestals are all in designer colors and cost 5 times what we used to pay for them...

See the quote in my previous reply - delivery fee runs from $9.95 to $7.95 depending on $$$ of order.

Right! Like you'd just lear-jet up here for corned beef!
That's why I asked!
for up to 75 it's 9.95
then for up to 100 it's 8.95
and then for 100 or more it's 7.95.
So they must be counting on tips.... because the fee goes DOWN as you order more groceries! ..... unless you got it backwards. So I was verifying.

atty, i imagine the store can lower delivery fees as their profit margins on the orders go up. and it would be good to know if the drivers receive a regular wage or are dependent on tips, like waitresses!
