Atty, I can get you a bunch of good links... I can't do it this weekend, we have plans. But what we did in the past, we used to post (or repost) the good stuff in the Burning thread, edit it there, and then have a mod transfer it to the stickies. I think that's the way to do it. There was a nice thread in Ask the Vets just recently about Ohm's Law... Let me find the link. But we should do it in the Burning thread.

The idea is to repost the good posts--giving full credit to the authors!

i wish i knew what this thread was for

Just friends kelli and general chat.
^^^ Yep. With a history!

kelli ... it has a history. The thread was origionally started as a "manners" thing or a help-the-newbies thing. See, in the old days some posts were left...unanswered. Sometimes they were hard questions, sometimes people just ignored it....whatever. The OP was worried that newbies would be offended or feel bad. These "slow to answer" threads were "Snails".

Now a nice group of people decided they would watch out for these threads and help the newbies feel at home. They were the Snails group. And that's why there's a "response on threads" phrase in the title.

Now-a-days, it's kind of a chat thread. The forum is so well watched by so many that few if any threads go unanswered.

So Fran's correct. But the title is confusing. :)

Kat: How about we start a post in General (or maybe Vet forum) and get everyone to beat it up. Then use that. That way it's a collective project.

Or maybe that's just asking for trouble.......we know how those things can go......;)

Not sure--I was hoping maybe you and Tom would write a nice intro and then we could add some good posts on the subject and call it a day. And that we would do it in the Burning thread--like we did in the past. But who knows... you see, the problem with an open thread is that we may get a lot of responses--and then who is going to decide what goes in the sticky--the sticky should be short and to the point. Just the info--no chitchat, no crosstalk. And I don't want to hurt anybody's feeling by not including their posts.

You should be in charge, really, you and Tom, and it should be more about gathering the best info and putting in in one place.

Alternatively, you could just write your own post explaining everything and then linking other peeps' posts for reference. As in "works cited." And we can link videos and such--but the intro should be short and manageable. Nobody will read long treatises on the subject of the Ohm's Law--all we need to know is how it applies to vaping and calculating the best wattage and current (very few people know that using LR atties drains batteries faster than using higher resistance atties (at the same wattage of course), for example.

And we need to explain, once and for all, the mystery of dual coils. Very few people understand that even though the resistance of the carto is 1.5Ω, they are really vaping the equivalent of two 3Ω coils... thus they totally get the math wrong.
