So I'm running a Kraken Genesis on a Nemesis at .6 ohms, dual coil, with 30g kanthal and cheesecloth wrapped SS mesh. It usually makes popping noises, I assume this is because of hotspots? Also, the vape is unusually hot, I blame hotspots for this too. Usually I take my time coiling, but I was in a hurry. You guys think its something other than hotspots?

It's possible that Hotspots are the culprits. But I get some snap crackle pop on both my kraken and igo-w, 0.8 & 0.5 ohms respectively, and they don't really bother me too much. Have you fired it with the cap off to inspect the coils?

I run my krakens straight mesh, double wicks w/ 28 kanthal. I get the same thing for about the first 8 mils then it works out. Are you using high drain batteries? Mine usually crackle on the first 8-10 hits of a 30A batt. I think those tiny wick ports are the culprit, Got another clone in the mail and I'm going to attempt drilling it out to 3mm. small wicks heat up too much imho.
