I wonder if Ben's high dollar developer has ever heard of a development server? Between the week long error page, and now this, Google is absolutely killing ave in the search rankings.

Lol, Alien vapor and Catskill Mountain both come up way before Ave on a search for "Boba's bounty". Ave isn't even on the front page.

Need to hire a consultant, yo.

If you pull the source of his page youll see who is doing the design. It looks like he uses a different platform than xcart. Unless Ben is having something custom done, which is entirely possible

Pretty much. If I had to slap an arbitrary number out there I'd say 60% or more will be custom. 40% crutch coding.

Right now we have to input the data (all DB rebuilt from scratch)

As we take care of this our coders/IT persons are handling a few special tweaks we will need to automate some items like shipping labels and bottle labeling. Remember, with our method we have to create each bottle as it is ordered. This means labeling every bottle as it is made. This should speed that process up to a button click *fingers crossed*

If I could ask one favor it would be to edit the URL back to our splash page. (I won't do it since I will never remove or edit a thread here unless it's simply vulgar or unethical.) It is resulting in a few folks registering, which might cause them issues if we are able to import the older customer DB (this would erase their effort thus far)

I'll have a progress update tomorrow after calling a few folks today.

I edited it, in the future chastise your web developer. That site should have never ever ever been live for google to crawl. That link is provided by google via a direct search for "Alien visions", and they are going to further penalize your rankings when it eventually changes back to the root url.

I know right, screw all of those people who are buying from alien vapor due to them coming up higher in a Google search for "Boba's Bounty".

They should have been hanging out here to find out what is really happening right? Just like all the people who had to come here to find out that Ave was the likely source of the fraudulent charges on their credit cards.

After I restock my cupboard then I'll worry about those other people. Also I got fraudulent charges on my debit card, thought it was one of a few ecig vendors, turned out to be my local grocery store. Seems to be happening a lot lately. I probably would have got hit in AVE's mess too but I had a local supplier at the time. It's the price we pay for the convenience of electronic transactions.

He probably hasn't looked in it in IE yet, and he ain't gonna like it. No web designer likes IE, but you still have to include it in the design.
