So I had a dried out can of grov snus lying around and I thought,"Why not ground it up and use it until your first snuff order arrives?" So I ground it in a coffee grinder and sniffed it - burned at first but I do think I'm getting a nic hit as I felt no need to hit my vape or do snus all day! Do you guys think this is a bad idea? I might just keep doing it to get my nose ready for when I get real snuff!

My best guess is it probably won't hurt, and if you have a fine grind, well.....

Stubby the answer man may be able to add a few cents.

LOL, don't know why you would think I would know anything about sniffing snus. I'm actually conservative in that I use things as intended. Besides, I have nearly a lifetimes supply of snuff at the rate I use it (so tell me why I keep getting a few more I just have to try).

The thing that would bother me might be the salt. Never tried sniffing salt but I can't imagine it would be very nice. Probably won't kill ya (how's that for hedging my bets).

So far so good... yesterday I had a badly clogged nose and kept trying to keep it open with decongestants and saline flushes so I couldn't really smell anything but I did feel the nicotine and feel the burn. Today my sinuses cleared up completely! I really believe there is a correlation between sniffing tobacco and having clear sinuses. Well today I still sneezed earlier in the morning when I snuffed my snus but tonight I'm finally able to do it without sneezing. The smell isn't strong though - just slightly salty smell at most... I think that the flavorings they add to snus are really strong then. The good thing about sniffing snus is that I've actually avoided vaping and snusing COMPLETELY. This is a HUGE accomplishment for me - just a couple days ago I was experimenting with 0 nic VG out of desparation and now I've found a way to quit vaping! Not sure if I want to yet though - I'm sitting near 150 bottles of e-liquid  but I think my snus-snuff will carry me over until my snuff comes in a few days.

    Away..
Honestly I dont see anything wrong with it.
Tobacco, salt and sodium carbonate( that changes to baking soda on contact)..........
The amount of salt may cause a little extra burn in certain brands..........

I vote it an okie dokie....but many say I'm strange.

I'm with Vaporer. It will work. In fact, I would personally use just about any source of tobacco, from cigarettes to cigars, if ground to a fine texture and properly moistened for my taste.

My problem is .. snuff is so cheap that there is no reason to muck around finding a cheap way to get around buying it! Still, I'm into recycling, so I'm getting ready to fine grind some cigar butts, which I'll flavor to taste and use as nasal snuff.

I ground up some of the Energy snus I have that I do not use, it was pretty good. Mind you I doubt I will ever bother doing it again but at least I got some use out of it. In my opinion the Energy one is more pleasant in the nose than the mouth.

I think TB is correct, snuff is so cheap why bother going to the trouble of grinding up snus, but if you happen to have snus that is not working under your lip, no reason you cannot try it up the nose.
