The 25r are all that my buddy carries in his shop he bought a batch of VTC5'S about 7 months ago and come to find out they were rewrappped trustfire he was so PO'd.
I told him you can't get real Sony's anymore so he has nothing but Samsung's now.
I tried Imren 40 amp they were in a yellow wrap and vented it in a mech with a 30 amp build so yeah never had a Samsung vent yet or one of my authentic Sony batteries, if my Sony stash burns out the only other battery I will use in my mech will be MNKE. I have never had a problem with MNKE 1600mah 30 amp batteries other than they hit hard right up until they run out of juice which is about 2.5 hours where the Sony's hang for about 4.5 to 6.5 depending on the build.
I hear good things about the LG batteries but I have never used them so I only recommended the Samsung's as I know that real VTC5'S aren't available anymore and haven't been for almost a year now, one other battery I have used that performs really well is the orbtronics I had a set of those that I got with a mod I bought off a friend of mine that were really decent but for staying power in a regulated mod I find my Samsung's last the longest.

Hey guys, figured id post in here, im interested in this mod from a price point and by god would you look at it, its awesome - but i keep hearing about a wierd lock thing, where everytime you want to use it you have to unlock it? so it wouldnt be the same like a dna30 or sx350 where you press and it fires, unless you manually lock it. That seems to be the only thing that puts me off...Well maybe the curved the leading edge with a 22mm atty ontop, does it hang over much but thats my ocd really.

Not to get too far off subject, but what about the new Samsung 30Q batteries. A few more bucks on Lillian than the 25s. Are they worth it for box mods like the Snow Wolf?

I just got a pair of the 30q and I'm really happy with them. According to Mooch's tests here (check the battery subforum) they perform well at 20 amps, so they should be a good alternative for the 25r. If I'm reading steam-engine correctly though, two 20 amp batteries - whether in series or parallel - aren't enough for 200w. I might be wrong so someone correct me if that's the case.

Edit: Checked steam-engine and it seems 120w is the highest you can safely go with two 20 amp batteries, and that's calculating with a rather high device efficiency of 94%. The highest safe wattage with two 30 amp batteries is 180, so it seems like a fairly bad idea to release a two-battery mod that can do 200w...

Love it, its not as bad as everyone says at least that my opinion. For me a chain vape for 2min and put it away and the next time i pull it out ill have to do click it out of standby but really not a big deal for me. I haven't actually timed it so maybe someone else can say how long but i'd say 10-15min before it kicks in to standby mode.

Glad to know at least one person doesnt find it annoying, i dont know if i would find it annoying, having used DNA mods most of my vaping life - its on my list of possible buys.

When the SnowWolf goes above 150W it switches to a pulse-fire mode to protect your batteries. It doesn't do constant drain above 150W.

It doesn't go into Sleep Mode unless the mod has been left idle for 30 minutes.

Personally I don't have a problem giving it a quick 5 clicks if it's been sitting idle for a while. At first I would try to take a puff off of it and not get anything which seemed a bit strange, but I've quickly become accustomed to picking it up and giving the fire button a quick click while looking at the display to see if it's locked. It's become habit, I don't even think about it now.

Well Well Well.... Guess what I got in the Mail today? Yeah my new Snow Wolf and New Velocity RBA Man Oh Man what a beast... I am new to Vaping and only been at it for a few weeks and I can say the ole Istick 20w is a fail safe LOL.. I built my 1st set of coils ever in the Velocity 28g Ni200 2.5mm 15 wraps ended up with a .07ohm and turned it to 500f at 75w and it is so SWEEEEEEET... Sorry guys but like I said I am a noob here but I will be blowing clouds soon... I dont know if its the Velocity or Me or the Mod but have gone through about 20ml 6 hours LOL... Man I kove this thing... As for the Standby it dose not bother me for it to lock after 30min it goes into a power saver mode and locks so I think if I have not vaped in a half hour then why not go into power saver mode and save my batteries. I don't find it a bother and I am used to taking a few puffs and locking it to put into my pocket so I kinda dig it cause my ADD ... would leave it on all day sometimes.. But I can't say enough good things about the Snow Wolf so far but I have not had any other box mods so I can't say a lot but I can say I have tried the ipv 4 and ipv3 Li and the SX Mini all frinds units but this is so freeking sweet.. Dont let the power saver nrn you away you will not regret one red penny you spent on it...

Could t agree with you any more. Definitely worth every penny. One of my best purchases so far. If anyone is looking for a device that can do it all then look no further this is it!

seems like most of the B&M's dropped the prices massively on their sigelei150s now because of the price point of the snowwolf200w im guessing. The first week the snowwolf came out, sigelei150s were still $120 at 3 of my local B&M's. Now they dropped the price all the way down to 80$ on the sig150s . I'm still surprised that the snowwolf only costs 130$ at B&M's. When the vaporshark rDNA40 came out it was around 200$, now when I compare the snowwolf cost for what you get at 130$ to that, its just unbelievable really. I'd honestly still pay for the snowwolf if it costed 200$, and it would still be worth it.

Just got mine yesterday.

Have had an IPV4 for a few weeks so at least a bit used to TC. Am running the IPV4 with a Mutation X V4 using 28 gauge, 12 wrap over a 1/8" drill bit single coil at 40J, 410°F with atomizer air completely closed off except one of the bottom openings. A single fill of the well gives a whole bunch of very consistent vapes that slowly taper off as it runs out of juice. Certainly not a cloud chaser, but very good flavor and using juice with enough nic it's absolutely satisfying.

For the Snow Wolf I'm trying to run tanks. Have tried the Kanger Plus running the pre-built NI coils and using the original RTA with 1/8in drill holes on both sides using 28 gauge NI, 10 wraps over a 1/8 drill bit. Have also tried using the NI VAir-T Coils on an Atlantis 2 with the 5 ml tank at the low air setting. The tanks and the RDA kinda "surge" a lot while using them. I.e. You can feel and hear the unit cutting to 0W then jumping up a lot and then down a lot and so on? If you look in a mirror you can watch the live reading reflect this. It's VERY noticeable from sound and feel of draw..... I've tried everything from 18W, 410°F (Kanger w/ RTA) to 40W, 500°F (Atlantis).

Anybody else experiencing a lot of "surge"? After reading the guy talk about pulling his batteries a minute ago I tried that and, maybe placebo, but it definitely seemed to help a lot on my Kanger.

mine doesn't at all. its pretty consistent and I use my Atlantis v2 around the same 500f at 50w with no issue.

I would say this is due to poor wicking, i get this sometimes with my kayfun v4 with a to big id coil and to much cotton stuffed in.. Try to do some primer pulls and see if that helps, (pull without firing) if it indeed helps, its a wicking problem for sure.

Certainly something to consider. But it was also doing it on the pre-made Kangers and Atlantis so it makes me doubt it.

Also, after sitting it down for an hour or so it started doing it again on the Kanger. I did your primer pulls with no change. I pulled the battery, immediately put it back in and the unit stopped surging NEARLY as much - like from "Wow, this is super noticeable" to "I think it's stopped doing it completely but maybe it's just so much better I can't notice the minor variation"".

When it's working fine it vapes very, very well. When not it kinda sounds like a (very quiet) vacuum cleaner going forward, stopping and then going backward and you can sense the vapor flow coming on and going away.

Gonna have to read more about whatever tempest.nano did to fix his, but I don't have any glass stoppers or wires lose in two separate atomizers....

Don't take this to mean I'm not liking the unit. It's VERY pretty, a good size and very simple to use. May just be getting used to some minor quirks.

that surging type thing only happens when u fire it at first for like 1-2 seconds, then it fires with the settings you have. I run a arctic tank with 0.2ohm ni-200 coil at 410F and it works completely fine for me, I can keep the button pressed for like 10 seconds with no surge or jumpiness, just smooth even vaping. I just keep the wattage at the max for TC so it heats up faster, its temp controlled so I dont see what the point is in lowering the wattage, might as well just max it at 75W so the rampup time is nonexistant
