Snow Wolf 200w With Temp Control

Not sure I understand. I have found no way to manually force a nickel build to use wattage mode - the SW automatically detects and switches to nickel mode automatically. What are you going to "switch" it to watts mode?

As for the SS coil - thats a problem I and others have posted on. The SW thinks it is like nickel and tries to run it in temp mode. Only way I figured out how to fix this is to put on a kanthal build, say its a new tank, and then switch back to the SS to confuse the mod

BTW - on my device, just pressing the fire button doesn't necessarilly do the auto switch. I found that for me, when I initially press the fire, it shows temp mode for everything and it isn't until I take a draw that it changes. No idea if that is what its supposed to do, but that's how mine works. Kind of odd.

Maybe I worded that wrong as I don't use Nickel that much, or at all lately. I just mean when I have a Nickel coil on there holding the up and down buttons at the same time allows you to "Adjust" Wattage and each time you press up or down its adjusting the wattage. And usually it stays in wattage "Adjustment" mode as long as it doesn't go into standby, but if it does go into standby and you wake it up with a Nickel build on and hit up or down its back in Temp Adjustment mode.

And yes i Saw yalls experience with SS, I just figured I would throw in my experience as well as i did not read about it till just now!

And TBH I dont claim to be anywhere near an expert when it comes to Temp Control, I was just pointing out how the device reacted to SS coils as I was using it.. I took it off the SW which my wattage was at 30W and put it on my Sigelei 150W and set it to 30W and it felt very much the same.. That doesn't surprise me. I had read somewhere that the SW and Sigelei use the same chip. Don't know if its true, but if so, it might explain why you are seeing the same thing.

Just to be clear its a regular Sigelei 150W not the TC model.. thats why I was surprised...

Well, if anyone can verify the model of chip in the Snow Wolf, I just to happened to pull my Sigelei 150W non-tc mod apart the other day and the chip reads "Yihi sx330 v3b".

Good to know, tried searching for it but YiHi does not list a SX330 V3 "B" (Must be a secret between the two lol)
But, good to know my suspicions were right, that it is indeed a YiHi Chip! As both come from the same Distributor its not a shock at all though.

The SnowWolf is a GX200 I believe.. Will hafta double check but its something like that, and When I searched for it a while back there was no info..

All chips are labeled with the 'TX' tag. The OLED is labeled 'TX-OLED V1.1' and the main Chip is labeled 'TX-P200 V1.5A.

I was weirded out by the "B" version as well. I replaced a 510 on my friends Sigelei 100w and his chip in fact said "sx330 v3a". so it must be some custom version of the chip done by yihi for sigelei. I also thought its wierd that all the sx330 chips on the yihi site show the buttons above and below the screen. on both the sigelei mods, they're all above the screen.

Yes Laisimo and Sigelie use the same chips in their TC mods. It's more than just using the same chip though. They're related companies. Look at both the display and the company logos.

Yeah, I pretty figured that out when I bought my SnowWolf, So many similarities..

What I can tell you is temp mode arguably works better than the rDNA 40 (comparing same build on friends rDNA 40vs my Snow Wolf). However, I feel that this may be due to the ability to go beyond 40 watts. A .11 ohm resting nickel coil at 500 degrees and 40 watts is much less enjoyable than when compared to vaping the same coil on 50 watts. Just my .02. Overall fit and finish is superb, and battery life lasts 2 days of moderate to heavy use on 2 IMR 2500mah 18650's.

No 2 mods share the same temperature accuracy. The snowwolf might show 500° but the actual temp could be be closer to 520°. Where as the DNA could actually be closer to the 500° mark with better accuracy. That being said, I enjoy my DNA devices for my average TC builds, however, I agree with your statement that 40 watts isn't enough sometimes. Sometimes I need an extra 10 watts to do the trick.

Basically, the 40watt minimum is fine, but for a better, more satisfying vape, higher wattages are needed IMO.
