Kitabz, get thee over to snuson.com and register. Good bunch of people there, and loads of up-to-the-minute information. Excellent Health section. Not nearly as contentious as this forum! You'll see me there periodically.

Thanks very much, never knew about that forum.

Geez, just when I thought I'd get my life back I'm going to be addicted to two forums and not just this one!

So funny, the first thread I looked at had posts from two other posters from this one. We're all nicotine junkies, that's for sure...

I'm thinking that I might just give up the e-cigs altogether now and just use snus, being able to just pop one in and forget about it for a few hours is very convenient.
It´s heresy to say so in a forum devoted to e-cigs, but if you do so, you will do yourself a huge favour. It is very easy to forget the smoking (and vaping) rituals if you are under no pressure from withdrawals, thoroughly enjoying this new way of delivering the drug. Then if you are forced by something to stop the use of nicotine altogether, you might never crave a cigarette, electric and analog alike. This just won´t be an issue. At least for me it was not. I still have some stock of e-liquid and hardware, no problems with that, no appeal really. But I had to throw away all of the unused cans of various delightful snus. The almost literally cried to me to try them, and I almost literally cried when I saw all those delitious portions in the bin. (My son wanted the tins.) Morale of the story for me is that going back to smoking is a non-issue. Going back to snus is the danger, and the danger is not that dangerous really, especially for a healthy person.

I still think e-cigs can be used as a quit smoking tool. And as such nobody should hesitate to stop using them as soon as they are able to pull it off - with the help of ST or in any other way.

Yes, it wasn't my intention when I started this whole experiment to give up e-cigs [any time soon at least] but the intensity of addiction that existed with real cigs is just not there with e-cigs (or snus); I seem to have gotten over that thank God. That incredible neediness/desparation has mellowed into a mild but manageable craving. I'd now rather just take the nicotine without any rituals, i.e., vaping, so snus suits me best along with snuff now-and-then because I rather enjoy the sensation. For socialising/drinking with smokers, e-cigs are still very suitable though.

I feel the pain here. I am almost more addicted to ecigs than I was analogs, I am vaping almost non stop all night every night. It's time for a change
Same thing happened to me. I was puffing that e-cig with high mg liquid all day long and wasn't getting the nic I needed. Once I started using snus the e-cig usuage went way down. I use it a few times a day at most now.

It looks like this awesome thread needs a bump for all the people looking into snus for the first time.

Thanks to this thread, I've tried:
Catch Mint Vanilla - Very good, but I'm not seeing it on Northerner any more... discontinued?
Mocca Pomegranate - Also very good, although it didn't taste like pomegranate to me, but still a good fruity berry flavor.
Oomph Energy - Love this stuff. You get a little energy burst on top of the nic kick, it tastes pretty good (although you get a bitter taste to it after a while), 24 portions of 6mg per container, and doesn't need to be refigerated.
Oomph Citrus & Menthol - Much like the Energy, but without the energy kick.

I also have about 20 tins of the Camel snus. They're ok I guess, but too sweet, and I'd never buy them. They had them for free when you buy a pack of Camel analogs, so I'd buy a pack, get the free snus, and sell the pack to a friend, or my friends would get the deal and give me the snus.

I just got some new snus I hadn't seen before from my local tobacco shop. It's Grand Prix wintergreen, and it was only $2 for 20 portions. Great price, but it doesn't taste real great; not enough wintergreen flavor. It says it's made in Sweden. I was just happy to find some snus locally besides Camel.

It's about time for another order from Northerner. I think I'll try some loose stuff this time along with one of those cheap portioners. It seems like the loose is a lot cheaper than portions.

Well after deciding I really enjoy the General White Portion and General Wintergreen White Portion (that I paid 7 bucks a can for locally) I decided to place my first Northerner.com order:

Röda Lacket, White Portion
Mocca Mint, Mini
Lucky Strike, White Portion
Ettan, White Portion

Thought I would give these a try. After everything I read on here about the "goat rape" I decided to opt for trying the Röda Lacket as everyone seems to like it.

Trapped within my imagination
Hey TB or anyone,

I tried the citrus/menthol oomph 6mg and really liked the flavor.. I had tried one other kind that set me on fire lol... I am looking to stock up on some snus, just in case....Anyone have any suggestions to flavors( and what brand) that might have a milder sting/burn as the citrus menthol? Probably for beginners... As well as one that is maybe stronger for the rough times..It doesn't matter if they are purified or portions/minis...I also have the Wine and Dine gourmet snus - havent tried that one yet.. Ive been in and read this subforum many times off and on..but for once I printed nothing off lol..So I really appreciate any suggestions...
I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row = I'm so not going back to analogs

I hear ya man, I'm getting off these tings period one way or another..
Trying every option available.. If one doesnt do it something else will.
I know now why patches, gum, and the mints, didnt work.. 5-10 mg nic per cig smoked, smoked 2 packs a day, and they want to replace that with 24mg nic in 24 hours? What kind of BS is that.. I could have a patch on each arm and still be freaking for nicotine.. The Camel snus seems to be working so far today.
Gotta try some real stuff, thats pasturized, and low on the bad stuff.

Snus for beginners generally means sweeter, less strong snus. There have been several lines "for women" and those are fine for all beginners. I like the Ooomph products just fine, and the 3mg ones have better taste than the 6mg ones.

Mocca Pomegranate is suitable for beginners, at about 6mg per piece. If you can get it, Romeo y Julieta Senorita is excellent, but stronger than many others.

The Vertigo line I think has been dropped. Bahama Velvet and Cuba Gold were excellent, with a specially shaped tin. BTW: I've never had a problem with the Northerner site; I always choose the cheapest shipping and its to me in a week.

I've never seen a definitive answer on the time question (the tins have expiration dates, however). White portions aren't usually any problem, for months at a time. Dry ones don't seem to have a problem. And moist ones need refrigeration when not in use.

I've never had any go bad on me.

OK thanks. I guess a better question is; if a white portion seems to be drying out, can it still be used with the same effectiveness or should I dump it once it dries out? It's well before the expiration date so I am not worried about it going bad, just being too dry.

A fun little video on keeping snus fresh.

YouTube - Stop Smoking with Snus 3, Health, Freshness and good Economy

He doesn't seem to be to worried about snus going bad. Especially white portions. Waste not want not.
