Wow! so I guess you got another mod today too?? congratulations, that really is GoodNews! Or at least I'm assuming, because my MVP2 won't even fire a sub ohm coil. I too have been recently tinkering with some rda builds. If I'm not mistaken, I think I posted pics of it in one of your abandoned threads. (It was kinda off topic, I admit. shhh) It was working pretty good, but not perfect, so I asked for some advice. The fine people on the forum were able to give me some tips to help me improve my build. Might I suggest that you also post some pics. I always love to see what fellow vapors are tinkerin with. ;) Maybe some of the folks in here could give you some help and get your rig all running tippy top.

Gn, if I have learned one thing from this forum, it's that thrasher is right 100% of the time. Muted flavor is from lots of undirected air diluting the action that is going on at the coil. You know how people go on about reduced chambers making more flavor? That's due to the direct delivery of vapor to your tongue. The Cisco attys you liked would have a pretty direct, un-diluted path, right? So it sounds like you are pretty close to getting what you want, and as sensitive as your tastes are, fine adjustments will make all the difference. Coil height, wick tension, saturation if the coil, airflow above and below. These differences are measured in thousandths for those who are very particular about what they want. As others have stated, a picture is worth a thousand pieces of guesswork. Good luck, good news!

I remember that coil. Pinchy thread. You really must have done your homework, because my first coil wasn't that pretty, Jake. Glad someone got some help in one of these threads.

GN we are all waiting to help you get that thing performing the way you want it too. Remember if you don't like it, take it apart and do it differently. It make take a good handful of tries before you are even on the right path, but the possibilities are infinitely greater than any clearo.

I agree, Thrasher is good....BUT....MissKitty47 is the only one around here that's right 100% of the time.

Sorry I left her off. You are absolutely correct. There are several others who I have learned a great deal from, and who have saved me a lot of time, money, and effort getting to the happy place I am in now. (Reo Ville!)

This thread reminds me of the movie Goodfellas. Why you ask, well everyone is here acting like they want to help similar to the scene where Morri walks out of the bar with Tommy and others on their way to get breakfast, joking with friends he sits in front seat and wham ice pick..

Watch out for the ice pick good news:unsure:

I can easily get nic sick with my 6mg juice if im heavily vaping and my 12mg juice hardly gets touched unless im feeling feisty.

But yes, i can seen the resemblance to Goodfellas daminal40! I need to watch that movie again soon! Joe Pesci punches my laugh button in the face even in the serious roles lol.

Oh gosh... Ok im jumping in on this post...
I just learned how to build coils, my first was on the igow3 although i just built it as a dual, anyway too freaking airy i hates it.

So i bought one of those smok rda's. Not the mini but the bigger one. Its much better since it has one small airhole, Did a single coil at 2.2 ohms so i can use it on my vv devices.

Two things, one is some of my flavors, most infact have a strange aftertaste and a harshness
What could i be doing wrong? Or how could i fix that?

And two why in the heck would 12mg make you sick???
Thats what i have been vaping and it soes make me ill feeling, i thought due to the sweetness of the juice.

I also use 30g kanthal, and boiled cotton.

Any thoughts, suggestions etc is really appreciated.

Are you touching or glowing your coil before wicking to get lubricants and stuff off? Your wick could be too tight or loose. Did you clean your atomized before using it? Is your coil glowing evenly from center? Is it better at low power? What kind of wick are you using? Silica/ekowool needs to be torched.

First, make sure you have the air hole lined up with the coil, that should fix the harshness.
Second, it just depends on what you are used to.

Maybe my coils are too tight...
Yea to the other questions, boiled cotton balls, i think its a little better at higher power. If so not much.

Maybe i built the coil on the wrong side as well, the smok rda has a hole u have to line up the base and topper, they are on the opposite side of the coil i built.

Thanks for the feed back. Ill try these two things later today and see what happens.

One more question,
How much cotton do you use?
Like how can i tell if im using too much? Does it matter?

Highly dependent on ratio and flavor thickness. I like to have a little resistance when pulling it through with most flavors. I also find rolled cotton to be easier to get consistent..with exception of yarn, but I don't like yarn. If you're using too much it gets hard to pull and can warp coil. If it went in coil perfectly and gets swelling on ends of coil, that sticks up like shoulders, you're using too much for that liquid.
