Obviously, things will come to a head this year (regrettably).

My question is this - re: the proposed 24-month timeline to become compliant once final regs are issued? Is it safe as a vaper to assume that will give us time to "stock up" - on backup mods, on batteries, on kanthal/wicks, on stuff to make DIY juice, etc? Yeah, obviously not a long-term solution, but would at least buy time to see what kickback occurs, what workarounds any of us can create, etc etc --

BTW- I'm one who thinks regulating the juice content, etc would be great, but the proposed regulations do virtually no good for the real issues and would pretty much send us all underground...or, to put it briefly, I agree with casaa 100%.

If this has already been posted (and I'm sure it has, knowing ECF lol) then sorry and forgive a recent newbie for beating a dead horse - I looked thru and didn't find anything specifically about my "stocking up" idea, though... Heck, my first thought is if/when regs get finalized, prices will SURGE overnight as manufacturers realize how many of us will undoubtedly try to stock up! OR am I way off base and making myself seem foolish to think it?

Even the mighty US government would have a hard time catching each and every piece of vape related technology. I imagine anything with any nic content, and small business is what is really at risk. And of course anybody new to vaping and w/o the knowledge to find reasonably priced supplies.
Most of us on this forum who know what is happening are probably ready for what is happening.

And for many here, that's all they care about.
And that's the very reason the powers that be are able to do this to us.

Who is going to care if not us?

Being prepared is sort of like rolling over.
And it perpetuates the problem.

That's not to say that being prepared isn't a smart move.
I know I am very well prepared.

But getting prepared and stopping there is not so great in my book.

You clearly grasp the potential impact of future regulation.
Thank you for caring about others.

Let me share what panic hoarding got most of us in 2009, back when we had no idea of what the Chinese New Year actually entailed, back when FDA was insisting we were unapproved drugs/drug delivery devices, and back when US Customs was busy seizing product as it crossed the border . . . a bunch of equipment (mostly atomizers) that was largely obsolete within a year.

Hoarding isn't all that great of a solution. Far better to stand and fight for our right to continue to have legal access to the full diversity of products that are helping millions worldwide to eliminate or reduce their smoking habit.

At the very least it is highly likely that we are moving towards the curtains being lowered on high quality, easy to get, and inexpensive (and untaxed) nic base. That's the heart of the entire industry. And the easiest to control. The States can do it on their own regardless of what the FDA does. It's the only thing I've taken great care at acquiring and storing properly.

Not worried about hardware. It's really low tech stuff in the grand scheme. Regulations or not, that trade is likely to continue to exist as long as bottled juice is on the market.
