So i'm new to this entire E cig deal and I've wanted to buy one for a 2 weeks now and am really getting fustrated.

From reading this forum I have gathered that the best thing for me to buy is a Joy510 kit.

I found a website that sells the kit
(I can't post the site)

1. I have no other E cig products, do I need to buy anything else with kit? Once I get the kit all I have to do is assemble the E cig and i'm good to guy?

2. How does it know what kind of juice I need? I smoke camel lights right now, so I would like something similar.

If someone could help me asap that would be great, because 7 bucks a pack right now is killing!!

thanks in advance

You'll find that vaping is a lot cheaper than smoking, even with the start-up costs of getting a kit and some sample cartridges or e-liquids. I'm using the liquids to refill which is cheaper than buying the pre-filled cartridges.

I'm still new -- been vaping about 3 weeks now (totally quit a 38+ year habit after only a few days on e-cigs). I ordered numerous sample-size flavors to try, so I can recommend that. Just be aware that you will probably never find a flavor that "exactly" matches your Camel Lights. But the flavors are totally awesome. I suggest that you try 4 or 5 different tobacco flavors to start. I actually have the "Camel" flavor, and I really like it, but I can't say it tastes like the real thing -- too clean and too smooth to taste like the real thing (hehe). But even if none of the flavors taste exactly like your brand, you can mix them until you find one that is the closest.

Plus you can also try non-tobacco flavors -- there are multiple flavors available from various vendors.

The main thing is just to get started. You can experiment as you go. Good luck! :)

Yes - get started! Unless you have someone local to "loan you one" It almost takes a leap of faith. I figured not all of these people here on ECF could be totally crazy....

Basic kit = 2 bats, 2 empty carts, 1 atomizer, charger and juice, is all I purchased at first. I was incredibly pessimistic and cheap. Although, I ordered from a US distributor and paid a touch more than China supplier.

Wish I had bought extra juice! Juice is the big variable, so look for some samplers that you think you might like. Moonstruck is right about the brand flavors, none match analog flavors but most are vape-able until you find one you like.

Once I was with 510 in hand and vaping, it only took me about 10 minutes to totally commit some $$ to e-cigging. I immediately ordered extra batteries, atomizers, chargers, passthroughs, carts, various juices.

I look at my e-cig venture like skydiving. You really wont know if you like it until you jump out of the plane.... (but ecigs have a potential health benefit instead of health risk).

Cignot.com has the starter kits for the joye 510 for 35.00

I would suggest buying a Personal charging case (PCC) to go along with it and juice pick the flavor you think you will like but I would go with 24mg juice at least 20ml of it. You can always cut the nicotine down if it is to much but you can not add nicotine to it.

Thank you all for your comments

I just watched another video on the joy510 and with your comments I have a few follow up questions

The batteries only work for about 10 cigs?? Also he said the battery only lasts for four charges?

The cartridge he said only lasts for 10 cigs?

What else has to be replaced during the life of my e cig?

The battery lasts a lot longer than 4 charges. I've been switching mine out for over 2 weeks, and no problem other than you need to charge them freqently. You'll need attys and batteries, I ordered 3 kits so I also have extra carts and chargers. I found it's cheaper this way, I ordered from cig not. I ordered my 1st kit from RMV, $46.

Excellent ! I had the exact same questions. I'll be ordering from esmokey shack.

I have been a long time 1 - 1.5 Salem Ultra Light (Silver Box) packs a day smoker. My question is what strength menthol should I get that would equate to the strength of the Salem Ultra Lights.

At esmokeyshack there is :

esmokeyshack brand Menthol
(Extra High 24 mg
High 16 mg
Medium 11 mg
Low 6 mg)

Thanks!

Don't know where you got this info but it's all mostly wrong except for the battery only lasting 4 charges which is complete nonsense. The batteries will charge dozens and dozens of times as long as you don't get a shoddy one. I must have charged mine at least 60 times in the 1 month I have been vaping and that is a conservative estimate. No dead batteries yet.

As far as "how long things last" it's all subjective. 510 batteries will last anywhere from 1-2 hrs of constant vaping. It's a good idea to always have 1 charging so you can swap them out when the one you are using gets low, preferably before it dies which will extend the batteries lifetime.

Forget carts... Buy your own juice and refill your carts, it's a lot cheaper that way. make sure you have several attys as back ups.

Forget everything you have learned smoking as well as you are not tied down to the "light-up, smoke cig til gone then throw" dynamic any more. You can pick the 510 up and take a couple huge puffs and put it down. Or you can just chain vape it, switching out batteries and topping off your cart as needed.

Try not to compare the taste to smoking as after a few days away from cigs you won't care about the difference and you will start to appreciate the juices taste on it's own merrit.

Lastly, relax... They really do work, and you're going to enjoy learning all this stuff as you go. What works for you may not work for others and vice versa. I'm sure you'll figure out the best way things work for you and if you have any questions along the way, most of the people here are very helpful.

Wiscoking - sorry - another long post - I just cant stop typing it seems.

Again being new I may have some facts wrong - I hope someone will correct me if I am.

I started with a few 510 batteries a month ago and they are still in my rotation going strong. Lithium batteries are supposed to last for 300-500? charge/discharge cycles.

1 charge lasts me 2 hours of "normal" vaping now, less if I vape constantly. Although I use my pass through when at work, in the car, or at the computer so my battery consumption is much lower than when I started.

Vendors say that a "filled cart" lasts as long as 10 cigs. In reality it is more like 3-5 for me. This is why people refill or top-off their own carts. You can refill/top-off a cart almost indefinitely (maybe need to replace the filler - a negligible cost)

Of course, some vendors would love to sell you "filled" carts - but if used pre filled carts I would be going through a ridiculous amount of carts in a day. Today I started with a topped off cart and have dropped 6 drops of fluid on it so far.

Atomizers (or atty for short), turn the fluid to vapor by heat. They eventually break down. I had one die in 3 days. My second has lasted me over 25 days (and feels like it will last another 25). My wife is still on her first atomizer . (attys run from $6.75 - $12 depending on the quantity and where you buy)

My "plan" is to buy 5 empty carts, 3 batts, 3 attys and 180ml of fluid a month until I have a stockpile that will last me through nuclear winter. (I am a hoarder) Even with all of that, I will still spending less than half of the 7+ cartons of cigs I was buying a month.

Some people say that the cheap Chinese passthroughs crap out and need to be replaced.
I have no opinion on that, yet.

Although my plan may be side railed - as I am thinking of purchasing one of the 'mods' like a screwdriver or prodigy and I will have to rethink my stockpile....

thanks ashole, my big concern now is vaping and something breaking and having to wait a couple days for that part or juice to be shipped in.

I only smoke about 13ish packs a month(cut down since it coasts me 7bucks a pack), so I'm just wondering how much people will pay a month with buying juice and atty's(i'm learning the lingo lol)??

and thank you again everyone, you are all making this very easy for me.

Wiscokong13,

You're ready to go except you will need juice/fluid.
5 Prefilled carts wont last you long at all, no matter what.

Fluid usage is notoriously haed to predict. DO you puff a cig down in one drag? Do you Puff and sit it down? How will you vape? These are all unknowns until you start.

(Someone please correct me... I am reaching to put this together...)

Roughly, it looks like you smoke one-fourth of what my wife did.
She is satisfied with about 3 ml of fluid a day. So you should be fine at planning on 1-2ml a day to start - it seems people use more in the beginning for some reason.

But, if you are like my friend (one cig a day), she started vaping, and you, her dentist and 3 other 510 lovers couldn't pry her flippin' 510 out of her mouth while shes eating... I think she uses more zero nicotine Peach and Vanilla fluid than my wife and I put together.

As to what flavors and strength? - well there's a whole new bowl of Cheerios... thats trial and error.... and I am not the one to ask about flavors...I have a very narrow selection what I like, although I am broadening my horizons as time goes on.

You can refill the kit carts. As a matter of fact, if you don't like the kit flavors (they're usually pretty bad), just pull the poly out of the cart, rinse it out (warm water), dry it between two folds of a paper towel, blow or wash out the plastic cart housing, and then re-insert the poly. Now go ahead and fill it with your favorite liquid.
