don't meant to hijack the thread, but quickly...
I have been meaning to make a post asking about this...it made sense to me that a little warm water bath would help the flavors blend together better but didn't want to mess up what little liquids I'm able to get just yet. Thanks for the info. I think it'll be my go to steeping method if I find it works. the cap of breathing thing is just to dangerous in my house of kid and kitties!
I never thought of doing that till it was posted here but what I just did was shook it up really good and that funky taste went away pretty much compleatly

I am using FlavourArt, these are the ones I have: Expresso Coffee, Cantaloupe Melon, Lemon Sicily, Watermelon and Cocoa.

Is it the tobacco FlavourArt that you taste it in? I read a lot about FA in the DIY section and chose it because Nikhil (PureVapes) is using it exclusively.

I can see how FA would be a pain to work with, Expresso Coffee, for example, is so strong that I can only use 4 drops in 15 ml. I can't get strawberry right with FA, I am up to 15% and a few days of steeping and it's not strong enough. I hear they can get out of control with age, so I'll be watching for that. I also ordered flavors from Capellas, and am anxious to try them (I need to get strawberry right).

I wonder if Don would be willing to say if he uses a Dekang base? I have a Bacco and Applewood from him for 4 weeks and it has not developed into that smell; nor have any of the Vapor Bomb flavors. Not even a hint. I know they are protective of their recipes and I respect that, but I really would like to track down what that darn smell/taste is, only so I can avoid it like the plague LOL

When you get strawberry right, will you post it?. I thought Johnson Creek Simply Strawberry was the bomb in their sample. Bought 60 ml of it and it isn't the same. So I've been trying to make something in starwberry that I would like.

NicLiq, AVE sells flavors that contain any PG as "PG flavors", one of the reasons that they're so highly regarded. I bought several samples from them, received on March 11. I didn't like any of them, found that "off" flavor and heard that AVE juices were best if steeped, so I put them aside. I was a total noob at the time, and didn't have anything to compare them with. Now that I've found juices that don't have that flavor, I know what I'm looking for. Three of my samples are "PG flavors", the rest are pure VG. I'll go back through them and see if I find any consistent results re PG v. VG flavors.

Thanks, all the info. we can figure out will be great to have.

I havent heard back yet but I only emailed a couple hours ago. But I got to thinking about the juice sitting on a shelf and thought to myself...Hmmm...I wonder if the stuff in it settles and maybe makes it taste funky....So I went and grabbed one and shook it up really good and tested it out and the IT taste is pretty much gone. So when I do hear back from him I will let him know that so maybe he could put that on his website for future buyers like me that wouldnt think to do that.

I'm going to take the cap off one of the IT ones here and see what happens in a few days. Thanks!

I dont even know where that is around me Lol but i am certinly going to be checking to see how far away it is from me :) thanks for letting me know that.
Btw if you dont mind getting the 30ml bottles as opposed to the smaller sizes you should try Tasty Vapor. They do not have that IT taste at all. I love them I just prefer to be able to get smaller bottles in diffrent flavors because i get bored fast lol.

I love 30 ml bottles LOL - I go through one every 6 days, so I will definitely try them.

Absolutely, I will post the recipe down to the last drop if I come up with something that is good. I'm mostly happy with Vapor Bomb's strawberry right now in 60 PG/40 VG. I think it must be a tough flavor to work with.

There are complaints about candy-tasting strawberry in a lot of juices, I think that's because some use Ethyl Maltol as a sweetener. FlavourArt's strawberry is more like a natural wild strawberry and I think it takes a high percentage to get any flavor out of it, and I don't really want to go over 20% flavoring, since we don't know a lot about the safety of vaping flavors.

There was a situation in another thread (especially in my review thread for a vendor that I had to have the mods delete) about some people experiencing a chemical or alcohol presence in that particular vendor's juices. I personally haven't picked up on that smell, taste or aftertaste in any juice I've tried from any vendor, but I don't doubt that some people do pick up on it....especially after reading this thread! I even contacted the vendor to ask what the issue could be, but he wasn't sure because he's not one of those people who picks up on it either. It would be interesting to know what IT is so that those of you who taste IT know what to avoid. I'm so sorry that you guys aren't able to enjoy some of the juices because of IT! Maybe if IT is discovered, vendors can figure out a way to remove IT from their juice. :D

Thanks Curvychic! I am so happy for this thread because there are people to talk about IT. I started a thread a few weeks ago and it didn't amount to much.

I think some people get sensitive to thinking we are complaining about their favorite supplier, but that's not the case at all, because I've got a husband who will tell you that the juices with IT in it are phenomenal.

Hopefully we will figure it out. It might be something like how some people can't tolerate aspartame or sulfates in foods.

I think the IT comes from the nic base. Most nic comes out of China from various manufacturers. Some is really clear, some pink, and some light tan. Why the different colors? Well, I would think it's from how the manufacturer extracts the nic. This is just my guess. It could also be that some people are sensitive to a certain brand of flavorings, pg, or vg.

I can't vape Dekang or Madvapes liquids. The IT is definitely present. Total chemical taste to me yet other people love it.

I've read where some people don't like freedomsmokeusa's juices because of IT yet I love their stuff.

I just got my order from Rockstar and can't taste IT. In fact, they are really yummy to me.

I ordered plain nic from myfreedomsmoke and boxelder (nic for DIY) was crystal clear with no chemical taste. Yet, I order straight from a vendor in China (direct) and it was pink and stunk to high heaven. Why the difference? Don't know...can only guess.

If you have $2 left, you can get a free 5ml sample from Joogler Juice.

If you have $2.50, you can get a free 4.5ml sample from Vermillion River.

The $2 and $2.50 is their shipping costs. Both should have juice to you in Ohio in two (working) days.

Also vermillion River kicked in a second sample of their choosing with my order ( I liked both flavors btw). I didn't know about the freebie from joogler thanks for posting that.

Yeah I looked for places with good standing along with my other preferances thats why I chose them. Sounds like from NicLiq that it is just me being sensitive to it like she is.

I've had that happen with a few juices so far I've found after I let them sit a week I've liked all but one. When taking the risk of trying new vendors/flavors. I'll tell you you can't beat GoodeJuice for customer service. It's very important to Nick that his clients are happy with his product. He'll even try to help you figure out what it is you're not liking to avoid having the same problem twice.

Thanks hairball, I am writing all this down. I have Box Elder for DIY which is very clear and no smell at all, it's good to know that you have tried a China base and it had the smell without flavoring.

I thought I read once that China bought extracted nicotine from the US, do you know if they grow tobacco there, or do they just process it into base? Is it possible that they have a different tobacco plant?

nonmalum, I'm with you on Vapor Bomb

I did the Vermillion River sample thing and the Pineapple is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I have been doing samples after samples and that is the only one so far that I must have a huge bottle of ASAP!!!

I'm now very intrigued with the whole "IT" taste thing, however since I DIY I'm not too worried about it. My base must not have the "IT" or I don't taste it. IDK from reading all the above posts that everyone is tasting the same "IT" since a few of them are mutually exclusive lists of vendors. Hmmmm.

I've also found that some VG supplies have an "off" taste .. one even caused me mouth irritation and I had to switch it out. So, even for the "cut" ingredients, I think it varies. I think you're onto something with the nic base.

I have noticed certain tobacco flavors that have what others call a "cigar aftertaste", but IDK if that's the "burnt peanuts" or whatever "IT" factor. Hmmmm.

Isn't bluemistvaping.com pretty good? I've seen people post reviews of their juices on Youtube and they all seem to like it. They seem like pretty experienced vapers too.....

A lot of people like Bluemist alot don't. For the price its worth it to give them a try. I like the Belgian Waffle and the RY4 I ordered (which is good because I gambled and got 30ml of each). They sent me a free sample of their ginger ale. I'm not overly fond of it but as with all my juices I'm going to give it week before I decide I don't like it. I've found some of my favorites took me a week to even tolerate.

When I get an IT flavor it reminds me of the smell of wet coffee grounds (unlike dry coffee grounds this is not a good smell. Almost perfumy and almost burnt. I can't quite pin it down completely.

I don't bother with the "air it out" step either. Since I DIY, the juices I mix aren't very "perfume-like" anyway, which is what that step is alleged to fix. It may have something to do with flavors that have alcohol in them too. IDK what it does to the "IT" factor.

By the way... "IT" factor is normally a positive attribute... like "that movie star has IT - the IT factor." We need to come up with a name for this e-juice thing.

Yeah I didnt think that these ones would need to site for a week because there all premade rather then made to order so they have already been sitting. Who knows...
