So, how did you see the light?

I was wondering how everyone here found out that there is such a thing as a pv? Considering many people have yet to know of their existence, im wondering how the word gets out there.

Word of mouth
seeing a unit in public (lulz)
internet
etc

My friend happened to have one and was showing it off to everyone the day he got it. It seemed to go over well with the girls, but alot of the guys seemed to think it just "Isn't the same." I guess a year or two of smoking for them just wasn't enough to want to quit.

So share how you found about about these magic robot sticks!

I was watching the tv show "The Doctors" and they did a preveiw of one. They even gave one to someone in the audience. I looked it up on the internet and the rest is history. A few weeks later I went to their website to look it up and couldn't find any mention of an electronic cigarette.

I saw the FDA likely to ban news story on the NPR news site and thought,

Dang these must be pretty good...

and sure enough, they are: this is day 15 off analogs

painlessly too I might add...

Not bad for a 2+pack a day 45 year habit..

Now I have to find a way to get free of vapping...

I'll once again take my sweet time on that little project.

I saw a banner for "Blu" and immediately decided to try it. I really liked it, minus the small carts.. so did further research and found this forum.. then added the Joye 510.

I still use the Blu, too.. just not as often.

You bet it's a loss to retailers. I work at a gas station and a got a look at some of the sales data one day. we make more money off of cigarettes then we do on gas, beer, soda and almost everything else in the store combined! no joke. I'm switching to PVs because cigs are going up another 75 cents next month. absolutely ridiculous.

Same here. I didn't catch the whole segment, but it was enough to make me google them. And of course SE was the first one to pop up and oh well at least it gave me a sense of what they were all about. Then I found this forum and oh well the rest is history. I'm hooked!

I was on the DealExtreme website loading up my shopping cart with various novelty cigarette lighters when I came across some intriguing device called an electronic cigarette. I did a little further reading, emptied all of the lighters out of my shopping cart, then added a couple e-cig kits instead.

There was a short segment on the local news about 6 weeks ago. The news folks were interviewing this couple about vaping and the proposed FDA ban. As the interview progressed the couple where exhaling these huge clouds of vapor and I was like "Holy cr@p!" From there it was googling till I found this place.

I was shocked I hadn't heard of them (I'm a total geek, AND a smoker) but my girl friend had (she is also a total geek and a heavy smoker) and she got me one for my birthday...
she did her research on the web, and got much info from here

she and our kids are happy as hell as am I... almost right away, I stopped smoking and became an e-smoker (or vaper as most here want it called lol) and she is right behind me!

I saw a video on youtube. The next day I was picking up my carton of Marlboro Lights and Djarum Specials. As I was leaving I turned and asked the guy at the counter if he had heard of e-cigs. He then pulled out a VapCig started kit. I bought it and since just about every other kind of e-cig. I still have the whole un-opened carton of Mrlboro and one pack missing from the Djarum Specials! I LOVE these things! When I told my Mom I was now smoke free for 72 hours, she about cried. I just lost my Granfather to lung cancer....Yeah, she is STOKED!
