I bought it from one of those vendors in the mall. It's the club 51 brand. I used one of the samples they had there, and liked the feel and taste of it and bought the beginners kit. I let it charge until the light turned off(about 3 hours). I put it all together just like the manual said to, and breathed in...nothing. No light, no vapors, nothing. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. The battery light came on when i first plugged it in, and seemed to be in perfect working order. I followed the instructions verbatim, and got zilch.

Anything that could cause this?

Is it 2 piece or 3?

Regardless, the atty or carto might not be Jmaking a connection. it's an auto battery right?

Personally, and since it doesn't seem to be working anyway right now, I'd return the unit. The mall kiosk ecigs are crappy and way overpriced. You can get a much better started kit for probably cheaper that you will enjoy a lot more

Maybe you should let it charge longer, I don't think 3 hours is long enough. I have 3 different e-cigs and all of the instruction manuals say to let charge 8 hours the first time. Place the battery back in the charger for 5-6 hours and try it again.

By the way my first e-cig purchase was a Club Fifty One Duo, like yours. It worked okay for a few weeks and after that nothing. Batteries would not charge up so I sent them both back to the manufacturer as they claim batteries have a life time guarantee. It will be interesting to see if they replace them. Either way it doesn't matter since I have moved on from 51 brand and vaping way better e-cigs now.

Something is clearly defective. And obviously it's going back. But to answer your question:

I don't know the kit so there are going to be a few assumptions here. You attached the battery to the charger and the LED on the battery flashed, probably a few times. So most likely the battery and charger are working. But if this is an auto battery - no button to push when you take a drag - most likely the auto sensor is dead. Take the cartridge off the battery and blow across that end of the battery. If that fake cigarette LED just won't come on then the auto sensor in the battery isn't working. Battery has to be replaced.

Afraid to ask what you paid, or what this place has for a refund policy.

You need to bring it back and get a replacement. Or if they have moneyback return I would return it. meanwhile - any decent kit comes with more than one atomizer or cartomizer and 2 batteries. If neither battery works with an atomizer or cartomizer, then the atomizer, cartomizer or charger is broken. If one battery works with something and the other does not, then that battery is broken.

Something better that is similar is a Joye 510 w/ manual batteries and use it with blank cartomizers (like Boge 3 ohm) and eliquid. And use the atomizer to comes with to test juices and vape ones that don't earn cartomizers.

Or a stronger model would be SmokelessImage Volt w/ manual batteries

Yes 3 ohms is EXACTLY what you want to use on slim ecigs. 2.5 to 3 ohms

For slim ecigs it is standard resistance. In fact 3 ohms is low current draw and just warm on slim ecigs. Most slim ecigs are 3.4 to 3.7v.

Fat battery and mod 3.4 to 3.7v devices use 3 ohms as warm and lower ohms like 2 ohms as hot cartos/attys

High voltage mods use 3 ohms as a low resistance for them.

And BTW slim Joye 510 is about the same voltage as Ego - 3.4v

Hey, just the follow up here. I went to the mall, he checked it, said my battery was defective, and grabbed one of the batteries he had all charged up right there and handed it to me. It works great now, plenty of vapor and just the right amount of throat hit for my smoking prefs.

P.S. if i buy refill dropper bottles, it doesn't matter what brand I get right? just as far as not damaging my e cig goes. I know some brands are cheaper, but they will all work, right?

Thanks everyone for the helpful and informative replies. I'm going back right now(the mall opens in 9 minutes) to see about getting a refund/replacement. They said if anything was wrong it comes with a lifetime guarantee, and that they were the ones to talk to.

Sounds promising! Hope they give you a refund, and if not that, a replacement that will give you a non-cigarette source of nicotine while you look at all the wonderful products available from internet vendors. Almost nobody who vapes uses the first unit they get for more than 6 months anyway.

People on this forum and others often say the mall kiosks are a total ripoff. I completely agree it's a ripoff if the product turns the customer away from personal vaporizers(PV).

But your purchase brought you to ECF, where you can find all the advice, support and info you'll ever need. Every mall kiosk customer that comes into the online vaping community got something worthwhile from that purchase and will make up for that initial expenditure with future informed purchases.

If they don't give you a refund, please don't get discouraged. Congratulations on your first step into vaping!

Edit: Started writing before I saw your update -- glad it's working now!

Refill juice of any type should work. What does the cartridge design look like? Is it full of white fluff? If so, the main thing is getting the juice into the bottom to saturate the filling, but not so much that it drips out.

barysnikov, it depends on whether it's a two piece unit (battery and cartomizer with the filler in it) or a three piece unit (battery, atomizer or heating coil, and a cartridge that holds a little juice.) If it's a three-piece unit, then just push the little piece out of the cartridge with a paperclip and fill it back up...it should hold maybe 5-6 drops. If it's a two-piece unit, that's a cartomizer (with the polyfill in it) and it will need probably 10-12 drops to refill it. AND...if you don't refill it all the way (so that it looks like a slushy on top) then you'll burn the filler and it'll never be any good again.

I had a Smoke51 Trio from my mall as my first e-cig, and it got me started, and helped me find this place. But it was way overpriced, and it wasn't very good in the long run. Enjoy it, but don't spend much more money on it. You can get MUCH better kits from some of the on-line vendors for a lot cheaper.
