not planned, but just how it ended up. The summer months go by so fast! It probably was not the best timing, as I received my first Reo not long afterwards, and I was having some trouble getting adjusted to it. I actually set it aside for awhile, going back to my eGo's, but got it back out last week, have been reading here on the forums, and have been feeling successful - and satisfied - using my Reo for about the last week. I think I even understand the "blind squonking" now - or at least I've found something that works to keep the carto filled enough, but not too full. I'm also getting better at knowing when I should change the battery.

We took a road trip last Sunday, and it was nice to be able to drive for a couple of hours and not have to be stopping to change or refill cartos, or change batteries. (Though I don't let my husband smoke in my car, so we did make several stops for him to get out and take care of that). So I'm really lovin' the Reo now!

Great to hear you picked up your REO and gave it another try!

They do have a learning curve, for some it is a little tough. I think the various things that can run on a REO make for difficulty in zeroing in on a fix if one is needed.

I told my husband now that I have this, any more trim painting he does on my car will now need to coordinate with my Reo.

There is truly NOTHING better than a REO when it comes to road trips/daily commute. Reliable - consistent - don't have to diddle with it. Love the purple! Welcome back.

Glad your coming around! Do yourself a favor, when you grab that mini put a Reomizer 2.0 in the cart with it. It's all that and like 6 bags of chips covered in awesome sauce!

I've been reading a lot of the posts about the Reomizer, so perhaps by the time I can order a mini, I will feel ready to give that a try.

I think it is healthy to step away from forums after a bit. It gives you a better perspective on what you want your goals to be.

I immersed myself in a double edged razor forum for a bit (Badger & Blade - Home) . With their help, I have learned to shave like my grandfather did. I now shave with a '57 razor, brush and soap every morning, and save tons of money doing it (you can waste tons of money experimenting there too).

Point is, I went there to get back to basics with my shaving routine, next time you purchase razor blades look at what you are paying, then look at the price of the DE blades, all I am saying. I got so bogged down with so much information, it was hard to really get to where I wanted to go originally.

I rarely go there anymore, it is just for reference. I have enough shave soap to last me 2 years (and I still haven't spent what you would on regular equipment).

I guess where I'm trying to go is "You can only read the book so long, you have to walk the backroads too"

I'm definitely going to keep my husband away from the Blades and Badgers forum - he goes crazy when he starts collecting something! He's in a slot car craze right now (the little cars for the Tyco tracks) and has packages from eBay arriving just about every day, it seems. I think he has over 100 little cars now.

I just buy single blade disposables and use each one for a couple of months. I hate new blades prolly why I keep them so long. I do have a few straight razors and have thought about trying them out. Who knows if I do that I'll have enough scar tissue I won't need to shave. LOL

You sound like Ed (harley05) he recently talked with us in the lounge about his trek into finding information and beginning the "old" method of shaving.

Yes, I do agree, sometimes you got to take that walk!

Yep my 5 blade fusions are expensive as hell. But the shave is the best obtainable. The problem is that i only get about 3-4 shaves out if a blade.

I hate shaving and most days it's obvious
