We're trained into conformity now. Suspicion of each other. We jump on people for the slightest transgression, even though we are all transgressors.
When this country was formed the law was crafted to avoid just exactly this situation. Search and seizures, abuse of power.. all were the number one thing we were protected against, and our Constitution was a system of constant checks and balances to make sure we always held power and authority at bay.
Over the years, it seams, people have become conditioned to think that the collective is more important than the individual. So we push conformity now. Only in movies and music do we want rebels, individuals...
Just read Mark Twain, Ralph Waldo Emerson.. these are the people who we admired. Now its the corporate slave mentality. Even what you do on your own time, with your own body is judged and regulated and monitored... if not by the state, then by your boss.. and if you slip, watch out, cause the People will hang you before high noon- or even a trial.
It breaks my heart, it really really does.
Or maybe its always been this way I am just a gullible romantic who really believes our forefathers meant it when they said things like
"its better for a thousand guilty people to go free than for one innocent to be punished"
or
"those who sacrifice freedom for security deserve neither"
or
"no search and seizure without a warrant"

"The nail that sticks out gets hammered," yea I know. (btw if you know what movie that came from, you get 10 points :D)

Btw Ehvam, I'm glad it was just snark. I understand, things aren't always perceived well over type. Sorry for the outlash.

Here is to hoping that with coming future generations, the idiocy in the government will subside and all will become well. Here is to hoping we can learn.

I was a cop and used to train new officers fresh out of the academy (in Georgia). There is no reason for any officer to snatch something out of someone's mouth. You should def. file a complaint. Many officers are good poeple doing a very tough job, however, there are more than a few that are power hungry ...... that don't deserve to wear a badge, let alone carry a gun or wield any type of authority.

Parked at dietsmokes has fast shipping and I'm pretty sure he has 510s in stock. He's great to deal, with usually get my stuff from TX to SC in 2 days.

OK, 1rst of all, all this kid was asking "his forum friends"( & I use the term loosely) was where he could get a replacement quickly. In turn, some of you asked for more details, because inquiring minds want to know, then you start attacking him. Out of 8 pages, I think I counted 3 that actually tried to answered his question. I think that's very, very sad:(
You CAN'T know what happened because you watch all the police drama's on TV & you CAN'T know because you were not there & you don't live in Mayberry. Police departments in small towns operate differently than big city PD's. PERIOD!
I have a good friend that's a cop in a town smaller than the one VaporNebula lives in. He's a redneck & he digs it. He likes writing tickets, catching people that have had a few, & busting people for minor drug violations. The city loves him cuz he works hard & brings in revenue. The citizens dislike him,cuz if you're not friends with him or his family, you can count on getting pulled over.
He likes to hunt & fish, that's where I come in, I have a nice piece of property outside of town that I let him hunt & fish on. So I have a "get out jail free card" & I genuinely like the guy because he believes in what he does.

VaporNebula, Dietsmokes has some in stock & has fast shipping. If you order tonight, you'll have by Wed. at the latest.

VN, I'm nearly 55 & still have long hair & like my music loud. I too, use to get pulled over quite often when I was younger. I quit driving "hot" cars & started driving more conservative vehicles & it stopped almost overnight. I believe in standing up for your rights, but your rights end at the tip of my nose or at my ear lobe. I'm not trying to bash you like some others here, just a little fatherly advise & my view,so I'll leave you with this: Pick your battles wisely.
    Have a nice vacation.

It does sound like he may enjoy the whole chase, but here is the beauty of it - it's his right. Even if he is baiting the cop, if the cop bites - he has to pay for his sins. Cops set up criminals, entrapment (for the most part, at least as the layman knows it) is almost non-existant. If a cop assaults you (here that is called "Sudden snatching") and destroys your property, no matter what if he is not acting to stop a crime - QQ more, it's the cops bad.

I say take it as far as you can, I think small claims is free and you get to represent yourself. Make sure you get your affairs in order and receipts, are you sure that was the 55$ dollar PV, it might have been the 200$ one - either way they'll have it on hand to verify, oh wait, they left it smashed on the ground and have no way of knowing? That sucks, good they threw it on the ground and discarded it , would suck for them to be able to use "thought it was something illegal" for a defense. Though they might go for the wildcard and say they thought it was a robot attacking you.

I saw screw em, you wont land any critical blows and get anyone fired but it should be fun, you will be a mark after this but who cares, you got registered legal guns , so you probably have never been in trouble or do anything illegal so nothing to risk, go wild.

Do it for those of us who cannot.

edit - kidding about bumping the price up btw , dont stoop to their level

Cost to file small claims varies from state to state, but here it's pretty cheap (I think $50, but havent kept up to date on it). And may be able to get that back as well under special damages. I wouldnt rush out to do it (court would probably toss it out anyway because you havent given them time to investigate and pay), but if not reimbursed by the time the statute of limitations on debts is close to expiring, I'd sure consider filing. Sure, it's only $50, but... Course, I have a special grudge against the local police. Was in a car wreck in '84 (elderly man ran stop sign and pulled out in front of me on highway), ended up with concussion and thinking that I was at work and Nixon was the current President, and the cops illegally drew blood from me to see if I was driving under the influence.

I think there ought to be more stringent set of rules for police officers, and if they are found at fault they should be FIRED and banned from ever having a position of power like that again.

I've been harrassed by them and totally disillusioned. From being harrassed from driving a white NEON with blue stripes, to having them come to my house about pit bulls getting in my fense and killing my dogs. The ones i've delt with do not seem to be concerned with the LAW only with how big their gun is and the less work they have to do.

With the pitbulls the officer wasnt going to do anything but say sorry that happend. Till I pushed it. Told him that I had 3 kids in the house and I could see those dogs doing that to my babies. So he goes and shoots all the dogs instead of going threw the proper channels and making the owners of the dogs responsible so they would think twice about getting such dogs again. Nope we ended up moving because those people had another pack of pits the next week.

With the neon well first off its a NEON lol I shouldnt be pulled over constantly and my husband pulled over cause of a stupid paint job!!! I never got a ticket was only bothered and harrassed.

Any way to the OP please push this as far as you can, maybe they will get rid of the officers, I would start keeping a log of everything those cops do to you. And anytime you've been pulled over, I would call the police dept and file a complaint. Eventually with enough complaints something will get done, to stop you being harrassed esp if it is one particular officer like it was with me and my husband. After years of filing complaints and bringing it to attention that officer was transfered or let go I don't know.

Good luck and I hope you get another PV quickly.

Eventually, a cop WILL bite. And while the cop may have to "pay for his
sins", our antagonist here could very well end up a drooling, grunting

On a point with local cops these guys are just where I work. The ones where I live won't even respond to a noise complaint at 1 am with the neighbors shooting fireworks and waking my 1 year old. Should everyone not be held to the same standard, do the same set of laws not apply to everyone?

Well, as a fellow "tuner" I have a bit of "insight" for some of you.

Wouldn't exactly call myself a tuner. Its a Ford Focus hatchback. It has minimal mods, I just like the way it looks with the tint, sounds with the exhaust, and the acoustics are excellent(mega bass)sounds amazing. It's not a fast car 15 secong quarter mile. The cops just see the HID headlamps and assume that I am a punk they can push around. I have my proof that I am innocent. If they had the balls to actually show up to a court date they would see it. After about the first 3 months of this I disconnected the power supply to the amp, and the radio alone does NOT have enough power to be heard 10 feet from the car let alone 100 feet from the car by a cop sitting on the side of the road with his windows up and the ac blowing. So I ask them to prove it? the cops just have a hardon for me for some reason.

they do have mobile tint testers mine tests at 10% but if it such a big deal why has no other officer ever even mentioned it. in the past 4 years.

What are they going to beat me for Dave? being courteous? complying with everything they request? Or are they going to beat me for answering a court summons? huh Dave? Is that it dave? are they going to beat me with their batons for fulfilling my constitutional right to a trial? what is it Dave?

All it takes is one cop teetering on the edge.

Just one on on his last nerve to change everything forever.

Yeah, THAT one who stopped you a couple weeks ago and who is
walking up to your vehicle... again. He's lookin' kind of ticked off to me. :D

    Just sayin'.

Did nobody else notice that the story changed on the e-cig. First he lost his only one to a bully cop who mistreats him on a regular basis, then he admits that he has an extra. What was the purpose of this thread? Poor, poor, pitiful me - the cops are mistreating my pompus .... Get a life.

Please quote the post where I said it was my only device. You are making an incorrect assumption like several other people that have replied. All I said was that my PV was destroyed never said MY ONLY PV. All i was doing was sharing an experience and asking if anyone knew of a place that could ship overnight so I didn't have to go on vacation with only 1 battery and 1 atomizer. So maybe you should Get a life and read the thread before you post uninformed asinine replies. The first mention of ONLY was by BIGBOB in post # 57.

I think this whole thread started with: "This big mean popo broke my only e ciggy, please someone have sympathy and send me a replacement before I go on vacation."

A mod should probably move this thread outside, due to the volatile nature of the discussion.

Amen to that - His story has changed so many times I've lost track - He just wants attention and he's had enough of mine - :p

It never asked for opinions on who was right or justified. It was not I who steered the thread away from the original point of WHO HAS OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. Several posters decided to take it upon themselves to pass judgment on the justification of the actions of the officers. So, I say to them if you were not willing to answer the original question why did you reply?

By the way the only time the cops had shown an attitude other than constantly stopping me and destroying my property, was when i told him I wanted to speak with his supervisor. other than than that they always have a professional attitude. If an officer is going to get ticked off by his tickets being thrown out maybe he should think about the citations he is righting and why they are being dismissed or why he does not feel confident enough with them to bother to show up and defend their legitimacy.
