So I just got my Vivi Nova 2.5 v. Getting a plastic taste?

I am wondering if this plastic taste is part of the break in period I've read about? I am using it with the 1.8 ohm head and a Riva 1100 batt. Has anyone else noticed this? I am vaping Halo Prime 15 100% PG. If it's due to the break in period how long must I endure this plastic taste before it goes away?

1.8 ohm may be running too hot for the juice you are using. Try a 2.4 head. I have never used a 1.8 ohm head on mine, so I'm just guessing.

I agree with Buggs. I only use the 2.4 and 2.8 on my twists. 1.8 always seem to burn too hot for me on a few flavors.

where did you get the info that Prime 15 is 100% PG? i have been wondering what Prime's ratio was, but my guess is closer to 80PG/20VG.

also, all 4 of my 2.4ohm heads have been reading 2.9ohms on my provari. its no big deal, its just somehting to make adjustments for. the 2.8s come in at a solid 2.8, but the 2.4s are all coming in higher. the 3.2 is pretty solid too. ive tested 2 of those so far and one was 3.2 and one was 3.3. i havent tested the 1.8s yet.

OP, IMO your taste will improve after the break-in. prime tastes different to me in a tank than it does in a carto. most flavors taste more pronounced in a tank, but with prime im noticing almost a flavor-morph. prime in a tank gives me a bit of the Torque flavor. not sure why, but it does.

Kemosabe, My bad on the !00% P.G. I don't know where I got that idea? Guess I mixed it up with some of my other juices. Thank you for your reply. I'll try the 2.4 head just to see if that changes anything. Could be as you said, just the break in. Prime 15 is my fav juice, I hope it doesn't continue to taste off due to using a tank.

it wont taste much different, shanty. i am being super critical bc ive been using prime in cartos exclusively. i havent even dripped it in any of my attys. the taste was slightly different tanked, perhaps more pronounced. definately mess around with different resistances/ohms to nail down the flavor youre looking for. i am confident that after the break-in and after you find the right wattage, youll be mucho satisfied. prime15 is in my top 5 and id be bummed if it didnt taste right to me. it tastes just fine in the nova, just a bit different. i believe youll get used to it and actually prefer the tank eventually. in the off case that youre not, go with the mega carto (EMDCC). its the same capacity as the nova. they even come in clear so you can see whats left.

I,m on my second tank now and taste is getting better. I tried the 2.4 ohm head, but flavor is severely muted. Went back to 1.8

Same here. Did 4 tanks and have still rubber taste. Tried other resistances in various voltages, still bad. Boiled all the metal parts, did lot of dry and wet burning but no matter what it still has that rubber almost garlic taste. I can only guess it might a seal they used in the bottom part that simply stinks like crap. If it wasn't for the smell the Nova would be almost vapeable if it was the last thing on Earth.
