So I just tried my first Boge LR Cartomizer.

This is amazing, these things vape instantly, no warm up period, no break in period. I just, I can't believe it. And to think if I take care of this half as good as my atomizers, it will cost me just about the same amount every three months as it does every three months when I buy atomizers?

I'm sold.
if I can make a 5 pack of these last a 1 1/2 months to 2 months, it won't cost me any more than my atomizers already do, heck it might cost less.

Any cleaning tips? Care tips? Ways to make the best of these and make them last as long as possible?
I'm ready and rearing to switch over to these. I'd also like to thank Godzilla for adding this along with his box mods, if it wasn't for that, I don't think I would've ever tried it.

Boges are awesome for performance and ease. The best I can recommend for making them last is keeping them wet. Once that burned/off taste sets in it's there unless you're successful cleaning it which I never was and is one reason I went to CE2s much easier to clean and they last me many times longer. I never had luck trying to clean filler type cartos.

I wash them out with HOT water then let them soak a few hours on Everclear (high proof vodka will work too). Shaking the glass occasionally. Shake dry then put them in the dehydrator (but 24 hours someplace warm works too)

Been using the Boges pretty much since I started vaping about a year ago. I've tried other systems, but always come back to them, easy to fill, reliable, consistent. Still waiting on something better. Until then...

At one point I was cleaning them, but only got about half of them to work well again so I gave up on that practice. Just use one 'til it starts tasting bad then grab a new one.

You're right! The Boge LRs are awesome. I'm hearing great things about the dual coil cartomizers also.

As far as cleaning them, I never even bother to try since they are so cheap. At $1.30-$1.40 each, and the fact they last 1-2 weeks, why bother? Cartomizers are meant to be a disposable unit and lose power after a while. Just don't let them burn, and you should get pretty good life out of them.

Yep. Boge makes a decent carto for sure. They rank 3rd in my book.
(My opinion, based on personal experience)
My favorite carto, which I maintain a healthy supply of at all times is the 801 Fusion from Ikenvape. Cleanest tasting cloud producer I've ever used. The second best is IKV's 510 Gold V2 followed closely by the Boge's.
I have never used the LRs, however. I vape at higher voltages on standard resistance cartos. The only LR carto I've tried is a 901 that IKV came out with. I had to use it on a 3.7V device and wasn't too impressed. I have a friend who loved them though. I guess I'm just hooked on voltage. I've gone VV and can't go back.

I've used CE2 up to Rev 4 and wasn't impressed. I like the concept but all I got was low taste and plastic undertones.

I received 3 boxes of Boge standard cartos from Liberty Flights a few days ago and like them very much. They still don't last as long as the Ego-T tank, but there's no leakage and the taste is fine. I have to add a few drops here and there, but I have to say that they are working well.

Try the 2.4 - 2.6 ohm. I think that's the lowest CE2s come in.

Cheapest place I've found Boge cartomizers is Greenhouse One | Electronic Cigarettes | Atomizers | Eliquid. I buy in bulk to offset the shipping. I use china airmail which usually takes 3 weeks to get to the states.

I am boge fan all the way..but..I think it's my juice (which I LOVE!) I get a real "cooked" flavor within the day..I seriously could change it twice a day! 1.5's are worse than 2.0's for this..but both do it. Sigh, I need to find a way around this, it is getting expensive!

Considering I'm actually planning to use these for a period of time because I am on a budget and I do limit my expenses.

I'd say I'm going about $70 every three months or so.
Maybe 4 months.

That covers juice and atomizers/cartomizers.

120ml of juice normally keeps me going for that timespan and my atomizers last... well, forever. I did pop a boge today dry-burning but that was a rare occasion and I think that one was bad anyway as it never really performed right in the first place.

If possible, I like to order juice and parts from the same store, so far it's been FreedomSmokeUsa.
...but they don't sell Boge cartos.

However their situation would go as follows:
$50 on juice // 60ml X 2 @ $25 a pop
and $20 for two packs of cartomizers
(FSUSA's coupon code will pay for shipping)

Hopefully those two packs of cartomizers would last me three months.
I don't know because I have only used just this one cartomizer, but I plan on calculating its math into the equation once it dies and also considering I have atomizers as backup for whatever cartomizers I buy that don't last, it isn't that big a deal. I just want them to last through the monthly period in which I buy equipment, hopefully so that I get into a routine and never have to turn back to my backup atomizers and can just vape cartomizers.

See where I'm going with this?
I'd like to fit atomizers into my budget for myself.
I am a rag-and-bone vaper. I just don't have the cash to be doing anything big and monumental. A little cash might come from here or there if I sell something extra but normally, this is how it goes.

So far with this cartomizer, I will vape it for about an hour, then pop my drip tip off and top the carto off so it stays wet. This seems to be working fine for me and it seems to be keeping the cartomizer healthy and devoid of any chance to burn the filler.

Hmm... Good luck Doc V. I vape about 5 times more than you seem to (about 6 mls a day) so I'd be hard pressed get three weeks on 120 mls. My Fusion cartos last anywhere from 5 days to a week at that pace. I think I spend about $35 to $40 a month on supplies but I mix my own juice so that saves me a bit.

I think it has something to do with the fact that I always direct drip until I taste a slight burn or dry taste, then I just add two drops when I'm using atomizers. Direct Dripping seems to be the most cost-effective method of vaping as it wastes the least amount of juice which would explain why I don't use that much in a 3 month period.

I could see someone's cartomizer dieing and all of the juice within it just being wasted when the cart is disposed of.

I think, what I'll do is mix cartomizers with my atomizer use instead of relying on one or the other. I can save catromizers for special occasions or when I really just need a strong jolt.

Yeah, that's one thing about cartos. There's always a bit of juice left in the filler when they're done. It probably does waste a bit of juice over time. I have become an expert at rationalizing the expense of vaping. I never thought about the money when I was spending $8.50 a pack on those Benson & Hedges every day (+). $30.00 or $40.00 a month seems insignificant to the $250.00 plus that I was spending on the suicide sticks.

Also, considering this is a LR cartomizer and I haven't used a LR atomizer before, it might be making a large impression on me based on that reason. I certainly do, besides the strength notice a bit more of a thick vapor effect while using it.

I think my next atomizer order, I'll pick up some LR Joye atomizers and see if they are similar.

Lower resistance directly equates to more warmth/vapor. I loved Boge 2 ohm cartos on the Riva -- basically equivalent to a 3 ohm carto on an 808.

I'm back to 808 cartos now, on a mod, but typically run 4 days, almost 24 ml of liquid, through a carto before it's time to clean or toss. That means I run through about 5 cartos for 120 ml of liquid. Budgetting two 5 packs of cartos for 120 ml of liquid should be well within the realm of doable, even before trying to clean them for reuse. Don't vape them dry and they should go some time before they need to be put aside.

You can get pretty good results cleaning if you're halfway careful, but results do vary. I'm just picking up a small ultrasonic cleaner to try out, though I've had good results with several cycles of hot water and a bit of oven baking (at 200F, after removing the mouthpiece rubber caps).
