So, I smoked a cigar - do I have to reset my counter?

if you had one to say, celebrate the birth of a baby ... no reset needed

however, if you are going back to them on a regular basis ... the quit banner has to go :smokie:

Clear as mud to me ;)

If it was within three days of a new moon or was a Wednesday between 4:00 and 7:30 pm the banner has to go.

OK! So I tend to rationalize everything! If the counter counts how many days you have been smoke free then you are only smoke free one less day than you were before! You still made all those other days as a smoke free! So set your quit day one day later and that is how many DAYS you have been smoke free! No one said it had to be consecutive days!
My logic may not be accurate to some, but in my head it makes sense! We are here to celebrate how many we avoided, right?
I have never claimed to have my head on straight but it seems logical to me!

I think it depends if cigars was your regular thing before you started vaping. An occasional cigar is not going to matter much in the grand scheme of things. I've had a couple since I quit smoking but it was never a habit of mine.

Yea - cigars were never my thing. Like gotalotgoingon - I like to partake when we are doing NETs just so I can compare and congrats the taste of burning said product vs. using it for flavoring. It never ceases to amaze me how close we get.

That's a great idea - i'll just add 16 years onto my banner to reflect the years before i did start smoking! Inspired! ;)

That's funny! Unfortunately for me I would only get to add fourteen! I started way too early!

Hmm, an interesting dilemma.

If it was hand rolled, on the thigh of a virgin, in Havana...then you're allowed to keep your counter as it is.

If it was some pikey, machine rolled, plastic wrapped nastiness...then you're still allowed to keep your counter as it is. However, you should hang your head in shame.

Interestingly though, my other half smokes "something else" every day, yet still considers herself a non-smoker as she doesn't smoke cigarettes any more.
