So I was thinking about upgrading to an APV

I came to this part of the forums, annnnnd now I have no idea what I want, OOPS! Maybe I should just stick to my ego-c for a bit longer lol.

I really like the wooden type box mods, but also like mods like the Silver Bullet looking ones. It's like last week when I first stumbled onto the world of vaping...APVs are a whole different game aren't they? Definitely need to do some more lookin around before I even START to dive into this, hah.

Wait until January you'll have plenty of opportunity to try out different mods at the vapemeet. Just need to bring an extra 510 drip tip and youre all set :)

I have certain problems that make it hard to...wait...for things so exciting, lol. Pretty sure there are others with that problem right?

Budget is kinda up in the air, I wouldnt mind spending around 100 bucks, but if it takes more than that for a nice setup (tank and all), I could justify the cost. Also, I'm in NO rush as I'm still new to this so I could live without something new and shiny until I actually get to try out some diff things in January.

I smoked around a pack a day of Reds and quit, but I started dipping and was at about a can a day for around a year. So I like my nic contents high.

I like a mild th, warmish vape, lots of vapor/flavor. I also always go for quality over quantity, so again, prices can be justified if they're over my 100ish budget.

What APV's are you thinking you are interested right now? Give us an idea of what got you on this "kick" to start with then we can narrow down what may or may not work for you.
What size do you think you want to carry around?
How long do you want the battery to last?
Are you hard on things, or mainly sit at a desk all day?
Give us an idea of what your needs and wants are.

This is where someone usually jumps in and says buy a Provari but theres been a LOT of hate lately in that regards. If youve looked at one of those youd be in the 200 dollar range for a battery with charger etc. In terms of quality its hard to beat.

Steam Monkey has a sale on the V2 Zmax for 90 bucks you might be interested in, or you could start looking at the classified sometimes you can catch some amazing deals on there if you dont mind buying gently used.

I really like the boxy wooden looking mods, also I like the mods like Provari or Silver Bullets. I honestly only know of these couple names, but I like their looks.

I don't want anything HUGE, but the size of what I said above is what I want to stay around.

I want a battery I can use for a day or two, I can't really vape all day at work, but on nights I need something that wont burn out on me. I don't mind charging a battery but I don't want to do it EVERY night. My 1000mah ego has been pretty good for me so far, but it's on a passthrough cable while I vape at home. (A passthrough APV would be awesome, but don't know if they even have those?)

I do construction, so IF I was to carry it around it would need to be durable, but I wouldn't be doing that at all really.

I like a warm vape too and I love my silverbullet with a smok tank and 1.5 ohm pre-punched dual coils.

But you might want to consider a good variable voltage too because you're going to get a lot more control over the flavor and temp of your vape. There's probably a decent VV set up in your price range but I'm not very experience in that dept. A zmax is probably the best in your price range but by the time you add the tank and cartos, it will be around $140. (Edit: Probably not that high)

The iTaste looks kinda interesting and seems to have a lot of bang for the buck. (I love the 2600mAh internal battery) It can be used with tanks and also works with ego threaded stuff.

Like I said, I'm not much of a VV guy but those look like alright choices.

I've been at this 2.5 years now and...
Try before you buy, that's my opinion. I love meets because I get to try things and see that I am not that impressed, or I am blown away.

I have the SB with a Kick, which adds Variable Wattage. All together with batts, tank, charger, extension if you want to use 18650s... You're in the $200 range. Solid, but I still need other things at different times.

Johnny Five is dead on with the SB and DCTanks. Warm supple and rich vape (Personal opinion please don't flame this I know my hardware)

When I started in to APVs (I still say mods) I started out simple. One thing you might consider is getting an inexpensive Variable Voltage mod to start out and cut your teeth on. No mod is a waste, as long as it still runs it's a back up :) I have been enjoying my new iTaste MVP it lasts over a day and has decent VV setting. I am enjoying it. About $50-$70 depending on the sales you find. This would be a place to start.

The only reason I bring up the mid-step mod is because we all make mistakes, or want to try things out and learn for ourselves. A VV mod that holds it's own for under $100 is a good place to start. That way you get a full understanding of what it is you expect, want, and need. Trust me Want outweighs need every time.

Now you can just go straight to the killer mods, or you can enjoy the newness of it all and play with some lesser devices and learn the ropes. Either way is right as long as you aren't smoking... or smoke less.

Billetboxmods.com. A little pricey and theres a wait to get em but MAN are they gorgeous! I just found my birthday present to myself!

That they are! If you watch the forum, he does specials on them once in a while. I was drooling over them the other night, but I'm too hard on things for something that pretty!

I still like my provari, and think its the easiest for a beginner, which I consider myself to be, I dropped it plenty of times and it doesn't break. It lasts all day and if you can find one on clearance on the provape site it's not a bad deal with one year warranty

Careful youre liable to get mobbed by angry cultist carrying pitchforks considering the tone of the forums here recently.

Is a shame someone cant recommend a damned good APV without having to worry about reprisals for it

Really liking the box mods, very cool! I didn't think the Provari's were so expensive...suprising. This is gonna take a lot of looking around, I do like the idea of spending not so much on a VV pv though, I feel like just getting into the variable world is what I need. I like Drocks idea of playing around with stuff for myself and learning whats going on with them.

As I said, i'm not going to be jumping into this tomarrow, I just want to start learning about this part of vaping because i'm positive i'll be here soon enough.

Thanks so far for everyones input...this community kicks ....
