After 7 or 8 months of building micro-coils with 30 gauge Kanthal, yesterday I decided to go "old school" and wrapped up an old fashioned coil using 32 gauge wrapped around a 4-40 machine screw to make a 1.9 ohm coil, with a nice plump Japanese cotton wick. I was thinking maybe the 32 gauge would gunk up a little slower so maybe I could get more than one tank before needing to dry burn. First few puffs were kind of anemic, so I thought I'd have to dump and rebuild, but then it started coming around. Today, I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Vapor and flavor are nice, maybe better than the micro coil.

If you get bored and haven't tried a plain old coil in a long time, give it a shot!
