I'm getting ready to order a Riva 510 SE and wanted to make sure I'm making the right decision. I started with SmokeTips, which are great for what I use them for, but I go through almost 3 batteries a day after just 3 weeks of vaping. I also like the idea of ejuices I could use with Riva - not to mention how affordable they are. Thoughts? People that have the Riva 510 that love it? Hate it? Why?

Cheers.

mtv: why you always double post? (Just asking).

Myxo, it all depends if this is the right choice (if it's for battery life, compared to yours, yes, great choice). The pros, 510 threading, easy to get parts for it. The battery life is great. Not too much wrong with it.

Not to sway you, but have you considered mods at all? Since you know you're going to be vaping, a mod might be more satisfying. Sometimes bigger batteries (depending on which one you go with), battery replacement will be cheaper (once again, depends on the battery). Plenty of options that way.

I've checked into the mods a little - but at the moment I'm in the business of saving much money as I possibly can. To be honest, I was happy in my ignorant bliss with my SmokeTip, then I found the 510 and figured I could save even more doing the DIY juices. I am looking for a coupon code though for Liberty-Flights.com if there is one...

Alright then.

Cheapest mod (I think) is the roughstack from madvapes.

That being said, there is a 20%off code floating around here somewhere. I saw it, but can't remember where. I'll see if I can find it.

Edit 3:
I see they sell the e-power. Long term, you'll be better off because replacement batteries for the e-power will be cheaper.

I went from a standard 510 to start with and got tired of havng to use and charge 3 batteries or more a day. I then tried the Riva/eGo and it was a vast improvement, from Litescigs USA or Libertflights, it is a great realiable kit and you get 2 650 mah batteries and you can use standard 510 attys or LR attys of 1.5, 1.8 or 2.0 ohms and they do great. You get about 6.5 to 8 hours per battery depending on how much you vape, it also comes with a 900mah, (100mah eqauls about 1 hour of vaping) and they can get an 1100 mah as well. You can use attys cartridges, cartomizers or drip for more flavor. That lasted several months then I tried the Provari, a major step up, it is a little bigger, but uses a larger battery then the ego, is cheaper by AW IMR, like 1100 or 1600 mah and the biggest and best battery with an extension cap of the 18650 ASW IMR, gives anywhere from 1 to 3 days depending on your vaping, uses the 510, standard, LR or HV 3,5 ohms or other attys with adpators, is technically very advanced ..has a digital readout of atty ohm rating, battery voltage readout, battery charge, and lots more. There is variable voltage so you can adjust how powerful you want to go from 3.7 volts in 1/10 increments up to 7.4. There is the VV Darwin as well that does the same and is a longer but thinner unit. Finally you may want to graduate to a juice fed mod like the ferrari Ali'i, hard to get, or the cadillac the reo Mini or Reo grand, very good and no hassle with carts, cartos etc anymore. Provape sells the Provari, Nhaler the darwin and Reosmods the reo's. They are all really top of the line and it depends on your taste, budget and what you like! Check them out, they all have their own threads and read about them! Good luck!

I love my Riva. Only thing I wish it had was an off switch. I end up using a Chinese cloth covered lipstick case to carry the 750mah battery. I cut some craft foam to keep the button away from all inner sides. before that I just wrapped some paper towel around the middle of it to keep the button away from the sides.
Lipstick cases - scroll down to the plaid ones - that exact style w/ the little brass piece on the flap - available with many cloth coverings as you page through. Those fit a 750mah Riva battery

I have both the Riva 510 and Riva SE 510 from Liberty-Flights.com. I use Boge cartomizers and thin juices for all of my regular 510 and Riva vaping. I find clear juices with no more than 20% VG make my cartos work well the longest. I fill them well (18+ drops), clean up, let it lay on different sides to spread the juices for 15-20min so I won't singe the stuffing. Then while vaping, if the vapor gets a bit light or a bit dry or the carto is getting unusually warm or tastes off, I add juice. I never try to clean them - few succeed with that. I only put juices I like in cartos and vape them until they don't work well. For testing juices I use atty and drip tip and occasionally atty and cart for longer tests (w/ blue foam stuffing in the cart - see strictlyejuice.com for cheap precut blue foam 510 cart stuffing).

Since I move my cartos between Riva and slim 510 manual, I need to use the standard resistance cartos. But for Riva alone you can also use the hotter LR 2.5 and 2.0 Boge cartos (use charge faster).

I swear, we should just be in chat (ecf's chat, although I have yet to go in there).

If you want a mod, then give the e-power a serious look. The good thing there (let's say you go the 18650 e-power) is that for around $55, you get 2 batts and a charger and all the other fixin's. You're good to go. With the RS, then you've got to get batts and a charger (batts are dirt cheap at dealextreme.com - just a long ... delivery time).

Hey, sorry to mess with your decisions. Put it this way, get something now, (whichever one you can afford) and then save up for the next mod. (Like me - not the smartest thing, but, I'm having fun with it).
