So Many Questions

I'm in South Florida. I just posted on the newbie thread.

I've read so many of your posts and got so much information that I can't make a decision.

I want a cigarette that looks like a cigarette. Not with a pipe looking tip or anything weird looking. A regular cigarette that's going to satisfy my cigarette addition.

I'm thinking DSE901 or DSE103 (David Yang). What do you folks think is the best to start with and what extras should I buy? Who should I buy what from? Puresmoke? David Yang? Thesmokelessshop?

Thanks.

Definitely purchase the DSE 901Ultimate Starter Kit from Katy at thesmokelessshop. Great service, great product and fast shipping. I would definitely recommend picking up some e-liquid also if you're brand new because you will go through the carts quickly (as well as the carts do not taste that well). I would recommend puresmoker cash juice if you are new because it will give you a nice throat hit and you may not go through your atomizers as quickly (true menthol or cash cola is a good start). Katy's Ultimate Kit technically is 2 e-cigs and extras that you will not find bundled anywhere. Hope this helps...welcome!

welcome to the forums. if you dont want a "pipe" like tip, the dse 901 has that....thats what i use, and im very happy with it.. people here refer to it often as "whistle" tip. from what i have read, if you really want a cigarette like mouthpice, those are generally called super mini's, and from reviews, i might suggest the m401 or the improved version of it called "evo" which seems to get generally better reviews than the peewee( isnt that the 103?)

If you don't want a pipe looking tip, then you don't want the 901.

The supermini has the cigarette like tip but beware, it has a small battery which needs constant recharging and the cartridges are small so they need constant topping off/refilling.

Someone mentioned the new EVO which has gotten some good reviews....that's not too big and has the rounded mouthpiece but the cartridges are bigger than the 901 and I hear the battery lasts pretty long.

If you look for reviews on the super minis or peewees, you probably won't find many favorable. But if you are a very light smoker or don't mind maintaining the smaller parts, then go for it!

And it might be wiser to buy locally to begin with in case you have to return any parts.

Good luck!

When I first started vaping about 6 months ago, I wanted the ecig to look like a real cigarette. That was fine for a while and then I discovered that larger styles lasted much longer. After about a month of having the super-mini (the one that looks like a real ciggie) keep going out (atomizers croaked, batteries croaked, cartridges didn't last very long at all and was going through 3 or more a day and that gets expensive), I decided that I wanted something that didn't look at all like a real cig. Now I've ordered (just this week) a new penstyle with a blue led and the cute little pink mini with the pink led from Puresmoker. Since I work on the computer all day, I got the USB battery for one of them (can't remember which one cause I got so much stuff!!). Can't wait for the mail to get here tomorrow!!

I'd say go ahead and start with a super mini if you really want something that looks like a real cig. But understand that it won't smoke like a real cig and sometimes it's easier to quit the real ones if you've got something different to replace them. Quitting smoking means changing habits. Vaping a penstyle or mini- style falls right in with changing habits.

Get both - the mini or penstyle for fun and the super-mini for when you want a "real cig"

Seems there's a lot of people who wanted to start out with a cig looking device, tried it, then regretted it. Someone should start a poll here like that...might help the newbs.

I know I wanted one too but after researching it further, decided against it. With my heavy smoking, I'm sure glad I did! Also was thinking about those one piece atomizer/cart deals but same thing...ended up deciding against it.

I am a 2 pack a day smoker, need some thing that will last that long, without changing batteries, and would like a marlboro flavor.

I smoked almost 3 packs a day and I use the penstyle. It is sufficient as far as batteries and carts go but if I could afford it, I'd go with the screwdriver....designed more for heavy smokers.

If you're at a computer a lot, one of the usb ecigs would work well because there is no battery to change.....but unless you have some other type of adapters, that is the only place you can use it.

Not because I own one but if you smoke 2 packs a day, you will want something bigger like the penstyle...or the screwdriver powerhitter.

Newer products will be coming out with hopefully better battery lives but I guess you;ll have to pick something for now.

BTW...it seems the reviews for both the njoy and epuffer have not been the best.

Well smokie, I am off to bed.

If you do decide on the penstyle, I'd recommend www.puresmoker.com

Make sure to order a couple extra atomizers and a bottle of juice to top off your cartridges when they go dry.

If you go with the mini 901, I was going to recommend The Smokeless Shop - The Ultimate DSE901b Black Mini Starter Kit

because that is a great starter kit but it looks like they will be closed 1/5-1/8. Don't know how quickly you can do this.

Or you can always go to puresmoker for that too.

Well good luck!

I want to thank all you vapers for your advice. After reading all the replies I think I got over the cig-looking device and go with the 901 starter kit from thesmokelessshop.

I'm a moderate smoker (1 pack) a day. But I don't understand the battery problems. Does the battery run out because of a specific amount of time or just from use? It doesn't take a lot of time to smoke a cigarette so it seems that it a 3-4 hour battery life should work for the day and another for the night? Am I missing something in the translation?

Anyway, thanks all for your help. I was up all night reading this forum and smoking my brains out trying to make a decision. I'd really like to stop smoking cigarettes so I'm hoping for a good experience with the e's.

good choice..i went with the 901 as my first, and have been happy. i was a 1 pack a day smoker as well. the one problem is, you will be tempted to vape more than you smoked...you dont have that limit of hitting the filter, so you stop for a while, 'til you light up another later...2 batteries are sufficient to get me through the day.batteries and atomizers can wear from use or time, but unfortunately, they are just not reliable, and can go at any time.i had one of each die on the 3rd day, but is being swapped out under 14 day warranty. this should only teach you to have extra parts for when that happens(note i did not say "if" that happens)...kates starter pack is great since it gives you an extra battery and atomizer over standard kits, and the extra charger. only thing i might suggest is the usb power cord, so you can use it with no battery at all, thereby saving your batteries for when you are out and about, and saving them "wear". i think kate sells it, but if not, puresmoker does.

Well Noga, at a pack a day, the 901 could be a good start for you.

The batteries....see the problem is, you will probably find that you use the ecig much more than you used regular cigarettes. It seems that's just the way it is. They're hard to put down! So if you figure the battery life to be 3-4 hours, with "regular" use, you will probably go through minimum 3 batts a day.

There's another thing that happens too. You will notice when you first take the battery off the charger, that is the best hit you will ever get because as you smoke, the batteries decline. You will notice a harder draw and less vapor....and it really won't be as satisfying. Time for a new batt!

My brother smoked one pack a day....brings one batt to work with him for the day....then grabs another batt when he gets home from work. That's good for him.

Because I'm a heavier smoker, I take 2 batts with me to work then when I get home, I use my usb ecig or grab another fresh batt. We both smoke the pens.

This really isn't like cigs. If you used to smoke one cig an hour or 45 minutes, you will not be picking up the ecig and smoking it like that. The ecig is more of a "continual" (for lack of a better term) process.

Well I don't know if that really answered your question but I think you'll see what I mean when you start it.

Good luck!
