poland, and the brassy lands of google
A little bit of weaker glue, like Uhu, on the brass threads ought to make it less prone to unscrew first. Nothing that cements it in place, like Loctite thread cement, but something that dries to a rubbery consistency so you can get it off later. I plan to recess mine, and certainly don't want the brass part coming off inside the mod. Otherwise, anyone noticing that some other part likes to unscrew easier than the others?

edit: :) Got mine today (I've got new respect for Poczta Polska, 2 days from south to north) and can't wait to get it running. I should follow m own advice as the 1st thing I did was get the brass piece off inside the mod. sigh.

if you add some kind of glue , aren't going to break-up the neg. (ground) from battery connection ? and wont fire

decided to try an use the wick i got from my Atomizer from Nhaler, no taste of wire mesh,, also was a chore ti thread the wick into the hole of the engine cover , i used a piece of mesh and rolled the ends of the wick in it , then fed the rolled mesh into hole, then removed the mesh when through, filled tank and a vaping i went..

Well that was a disastrous lunch. I thought I'd try the silca rope, but as Santo said, it is a nightmare to try and feed the rope through the hole. So in desperation to get it running again over my lumch break, I quickly made a new SS wick. But I couldn't get it to fire. Re-wired it 3 times and it must have been shorting.
Left it at home and back onto my cartomizer to keep my nic levels in check for the afternoon. I'll try again tonight.

Did you use silca rope like what you find in the CE2 Clearomizers?
Did you loop the rope (if you used it) and wrap the kanthral coil over the loop?

The tricky part for me is that I suspect one of my coils is being pulled up and touching the metal sleave of the pos connector.
It's such a tight small area to set it up. Tightening the pos screw always pulls the mesh toward the connector, it would have been super awesome if there was a small hole to feed the wire through and clamp down.

Fiddly stuff.

I wonder how it would wick if there was a length of silca rope running through the centre of the mesh?

i'm still debating if i use mesh with a ceramic sleeve for a cover, or just try the ceramic sleeve.

Yep, it's a tricky one, such little amount of space to wind up the coil.
I may try slotting in a little carto paper to stop the 4th coil touching the connector.

I would really love to be able to try the silca rope, I think it will wick a whole lot better. Just need an ingenious way of pulling it through the hole.

Something like a needle threading tool?

I hear you with the metal sleeve part. I'm trying to get six loops in there and the bottom one likes to fall off and the top one touches. I should be in the 3ohm range and it drops to 2. Something like Dan's spring + washer setup could take the place of the spacer.

Well I was using the rope from a clearomizer. On the u-bend of the rope folded in half, I wrapped the coil (Also tricky on a soft surface, tried using a needle for extra support), then I was left with two fraying ends to try and get through the hole, while avoiding disrupting my coil. This is where it all started going wrong.
I tried wrapping the ends together with some steel mesh, but it was too fat.
I'll try again with a loop of thin wire, see if I can pull them both through.

Did you try pulling loops through with a thin wire loop and then trimming shorter?
