Okay, I know this post was resurrected from some months ago, But that is what happens when someone finds something of interest and in turn allows others to see a new light on old information...
It peaked my interest and I actually spent hours reading every post, informational or not...
I do not yet own a mod and my only familiarity w/ any modders is strictly through ECF or VF... I am not a customer to anyone yet- So, I think I can be neutral just as much as I am ignorant to the mod world (& yes, I say ignorant because I have no knowledge of any mods other than what I read on the boards)
I had to comment because the thread was appreciated by me-
It would be too messy to try and "quote" every post that I came across that I feel I have an opinion on... and just that an opinion- so, First...
To Warp, I think he started out posting some information that could be useful to Mod noobs like myself- However, I do think more info could be given in that table that would make it more understandable to us noobs... This thread was quite informative even w/ the squabbling that carried on for awhile-
To all of the mod veterans that posted... Appreciative that you took part at all because even in the banter, all of you gave some useful information... Even if it did start to become confusing w/ the difference of opinion in information, and as a noob, not being able to distinguish fact from fiction as I have no knowledge whatsoever in electronics, ohms, amps, Mah, Ma, or the like... (Not eluding that fact or fiction being good or bad... Everyone who contributed had very insightful information)-
I do have to say as well, and again, I don't KNOW any modders personally or as a customer... yet- I do believe all deserve a great amount of respect for what they do... manufacturing anything and offering it to the public is risky, putting yourself out there for a very critical group of people takes a lot- Especially not knowing, once you put your money, sweat, and time into something, how people will perceive it- Kudos to all of you- whether commercially produced or not-
Now, in getting to the info in the OP and what succumbed from the month of posts...
For a noob looking for a mod (I have it down to 3...)- Question on battery (since that is what this post started out as...) With some I noticed an option of battery is available versus being dedicated to one type battery... (Which confuses me- My son's game takes AA batteries and there is not an option to use i.e. BB in it's place) How do I know which battery is best for the particular mod (other than what is suggested... or is what the modder suggests the best one available?)
Between C rate and mah... ma- I thought I understood it by comparing to what I know about camera batteries... I am unsure now...
Again, the thread has some good information- there are many of us here looking for information to help us in a purchase w/o having to ask in a post and get a lot of unnecessary opinions that don't help...
I hope to see more threads w/ informational posts whether it be from an OP or the content within...
