I checked last night and I got my G-tank Sept. 1st. That night I sat down at the table with my iPad and did the wick and coil with the video, step by step. Worked the first time and I've been using it since. I checked it after a week and it didn't look dirty but I cleaned it anyway. I didn't check it again for a couple of months, seemed to be working fine, then a couple of weeks ago I checked it and it looked a lot like asdaq's so I cleaned it. That's almost 3 months so I would say that's pretty low maint. lol

After one tank it looked about half as bad as in the pic, so I took the coil off and an entire layer of mesh came off with it, almost a perfect square right under the coil. I'm quite sure the pores were blocked in the mesh behind the coil so liquid would ball up on the outside. Now I've replaced everything and am officially on my second wick. Still a nice track record on the first.

First day with sturm's g-tank, works pretty well besides the occasional dry hit. I found it quite difficult connecting the kanthal to the screw posts but got it up and running ok. Although I have to adjust the center post, out of the 3 precise plus top caps that I have, it only works with one. So I'm guessing I have to adjust the s-wire a bit, only problem is I cannot get the brass part off for the life of me, anyone have any tips as to how to get it off. Also I remember a more robust way to create the center post but for the life of me I can't find where I saw it.
