Having been a smoker for 20+ years on 20 - 30 a day, these last 2 weeks I have discovered vaping.

Now bare with me here.

Not only is my health being saved, smelling nice and my kids liking me again, but I and saving a shed load of cash. About $200 or more a month. Cigs in the UK are expensive.

Now, I am lucky, that (touch wood) I have a good job and the money, even though was bad, was not a problem.

So here is my dilema.

I have a 901 type and have just got used to it. Got batteries, atomizers, nice pouch, carts etc.... Had the usual teething / learning problems, now understand and can vap as most peps do without the WHY IT NOT WORKING problem.

So do I

Spend about 6 months worth of money of analog $1300 worth and just buy a massive bulk load... Ie about 15 atomizers, a couple more batteries to add to the 4 I have and as much juice as I can to last me.

or

do I do it piece meal, as and when I need in case the technology changes in 6 months.

I am totally converted from 30 a day to vaping about 3 - 4 carts a day and feel great for it with the health and money savings.

So what do you think ?

Do I splash out for 6 months and go with what works incase supply runs out

or do I

Spend as and when I need.

Some may call this stockpiling, so tempted to buy all of wickeds certain flavour juice from them tonight and store it with some fluval filter wool.

I personally have about 10 batteries put away, 4 chargers, 15 attys, a bunch of extra catridges and about a year's worth of juices put away. I'm not taking any chances with the ban coming. My plan is to get down to zero and quit it all anyhow, but I need more time to slowly do that. I say to have some stock that will last you a while just in case. If we really see the ban coming, I'm buying more. I also buy higher mgs in liquids and cut them to stretch them, but I'm mostly a menthol/mint vaper, and those are really easy to stretch and still keep flavor. I know with cutting, I'm good for at least a year or more already. I say spend it! LOL

Your probably going to want to try different models so don't spend it all on 1 kind. Im waiting for my 2nd to arrive but already looking at other models, and i don't have much money. Just get enough to keep you going and replace parts if they break. There will always be a new one round the corner to tempt you into buying it.

I went the big stockpile method. There is a bit of an initial investment in a new model (extra chargers, carts, etc) so I finally decided to just bump the hell out of my 410 kits evo/pilot/generics.

As of today's order I now have 18 batteries and 18 atomizers with 4 chargers. If all the shipments arrive I will have 700ml 36mg unflavored and about 500ml flavored at different levels.

Given the political climate there is no way I want to risk drying out during the control wars. I also think I REALLY overdid it :)

The 901 (as the penstyles) are pretty generic models which although modified at times, the basic model will probably always be around. Nobody knows what the pending bans are going to bring so I say stock up enough for what you are using now.

Waiting until you need something is taking a chance. As you can see now, suppliers run out of stuff every day and they're not even sure when things will be restocked at times. You will be thankful for having enough supplies on hand someday.

I'm not necessarily saying go spend $1300 on supplies but being prepared for whatever is coming will give you peace of mind in the long run. And I would think the basic 901 and penstyles will be around as long as ecigs are available.

Oh, and you can always experiment with other models down the road but it will be good to have at least one, with spare parts, as your main device.

It's built up since the new year. I've hit a bunch of different suppliers in the UK, US, Canada and China. I find the EVO hardware is my favorite so if I had of known I could have cut a deal with Intellicig early and saved a bundle.

Doesn't matter though..its been fun checking out all the suppliers and have found some really good ones.

I bought an rn4081 first and it was cool. Spend a bundle on spares. Then I got a 901 and loved it. Spent loads more on more 901 bits

Then I bought a Kissbox Classic Extended. Loved it more. Spent a bundle.

Then sold the RN

Then I bought a Dura-C. Then another. Then spares.

Sold the 901s as I liked the Dura much better

Now I bought an I-inhale

The moral of the story? buy a couple of months worth of spares and juice, but I guarantee you will be buying more e-cigs so I wouldnt blow a load of money on the one you have on the assumption that it will last you a year.

Just my 2p

I don't want to derail the thread so I'll PM the list.

Edit: Oops..it's your thread :)

I've had great luck with intellicig, east mall, puresmoker, johnston creek, electronic-cigz and vapordrag. All from these forums. The highest quality product (and this is personal opinion only) are the evo products. They just seem to feel like they are built a bit better.

I've had a horrible experience with epuffer.

if the whole shebang gets banned your gonna run out eventually anyways , By spending a large amount your just delaying the inevitable.

If i wanted to stockpile it would be on liquid only , I'm sure the devices or parts will be available regardless , it's the liquid that will face the axe first.

Orcourse I wouldnt go buying any normal ecig battery for longevity purposes. Plenty of mods and products available that use generic batteries ;)

btw, I just ordered 5 evo atomizers from intellicig.com in there trade section for £5.60 each ( minimum order is 5 pieces ) ..now thats good considering if you purchased one it would set you back £8.00

I second this thought completely. I am currently stocking up on liquids amd seeking mods with rechargable batteries.

Stock up on liiquids and atomizers in my opinion. Battery mods will come for the various models, and maybe atomizer mods as well, but those seem a little slower than batteries. I wish the 510 atomizers weren't so much money, because that's my favorite PV thus far. I've got plenty of 901 atomizers, but need to get some 801s and some 510s

I think everyone must be thinking along the same lines. What to do?

Since I don't want to go back to analogs I just placed an order to hopefully hold me over for a little while. Main goal was juice, some new carts (might as well fill them as cost isn't much more than blanks), and atomizers. I figured why spend 10 bucks a battery and keep dorking around with those? They would eventually all burn up. So going to go with the SD for power and 901 atomizers and carts. Have thoughts of my own mod, but no time to mess around with it and would probably end up spending that much if I counted my time.

50 carts with juice
10 atomizers
200ml juice
$206

Trogg SD
$147.54

Should be set for awhile, hopefully.

I think stocking up is the best way to go. If they do ban them, I do not want to go back to analogs so I'm trying to have more than enough for at least a year. I hope the juice lasts 2 years like it's supposed to or else we are all up a creek. What is the amount of juice that everyone is figuring for a year? I have 700ml,but am thinking I need more.

Well I know I will need more than the 100 I have on hand now and the 200 I have on the way, but just didn't want to spend the cash for more now. I've seen people on here say that on 'average' people use 2ml a day. I thought that might be low for me, but I have been working on the same 12ml bottle for probably 5 days now and there is still a day or two left, so that may be about right. however, just for fun, I played around with some numbers. There are a LOT of variables here, but it is based on what my routine has seem to become.

When I go out for a 'vape', since I think someone would wig out if I did it inside at work, I usually top off my cart with about 3 drops. I figure I use to smoke about 20-25 smokes a day and still probably pretty much follow that pattern. So the question was, how much is a drop if I am using 60-75 drops a day? Well, I found a place on the good ole internet that says a drop is .05ml. So 60-75 drops comes out to 3-3.75ml per day. So if that is all true, I would need 1095 to 1368.75 for a year.

I definitely won't have that much stocked up, but I guess when I run out, I will watch more of the 'Walrus' videos and make zero nic stuff and go through some withdrawals for a few days.
