I, for one, have no idea what a real FBI badge looks like and I have no confidence that I'd be able to tell a good fake from a legit badge. I'd most liking be saying "sure you're a real agent" all the way to the lockup. :p

yep me too

I'd ask for their ID numbers call headquarters and tell someone the agents are trying to steal my e cigarette. I would be too nervous to call it a 'vaporizer'. ( conjuring images of MIB. No need to play into suspicions. :p

I certainly do believe it happened and I can see cops visiting a store. Sad day for me the other day when I was looking at juices and came across a ......... flavor. Said to my wife this is a sad day for the vaping world. Just a madder of time before [edited] figure out a way to use them to get their high. Under world start selling liquid ... to add to juice? Just some food for thought.

Already being sold in Colorado. Made news because high school kids were caught with pens.

Not lying. (If this is against TOS, delete this thread!) I work in a B&M and they asked if they could take several mods (ed: both regulated and mechanical) and ego batteries to have them x-rayed. I can't go further than that, but wow, the FBI! It was kinda exciting! It was like the movies and T.V. shows! They really DO all look like that, with the suits and everything!

Did they ever return them??

Btw, Maniac, went to Mission Vapers and picked up a bottle of Cosmic Fog. I hate to admit this, but they just might be my juice mistress. Ssssh, don't tell anyone I'm cheating. ;-)

LOL. I won't tell! ((we went to the other place the other day, too, its just a juice bar for now, store brand bottled elsewhere, almost everything tasted burnt))

and Sorry the big guys lost their toys to the man

"Can you take several mods?"

I'd have to respond by saying, "You can buy several mods, if you like." I wouldn't recommend my response to anyone else, but as long as the government still owes me $168,000, their credit is suspended.

The FBI has a budget for this kind of thing anyway. Why should a merchant who hasn't broken a law eat the cost of several hundred dollars worth of mods, when the FBI can very well buy what they want to test. For a small merchant who is just starting out and can't afford to eat even a few hundred, it would be even less tolerable.

I'll never make it harder for the government to keep us safe. But they're not going to make me eat a cost that they should rightly be covering, themselves. Yes, I know, it's our tax money they would be using. And that's what it should be. They can pay for what they want and keep us just as safe.

It is very unsettling when agencies burst into your workplace and take over. I have experienced this on a couple occasions while in casino management. First time it was the gaming commission doing a surprise inspection/control audit. Last one seemed much more serious: full audit by the state complete with armed officers removing all paperwork and computer records.

This is all old news. The owners aren't anti government, and they're not out to stick it to the man. They cooperated fully with the Bomb Squad. Hence, no need for a warrant. It's a professional establishment, not Ted Nugents compound. And if it helps keep citizens safe from the highly unlikely yet possible chance of some crazy vaper turning their device into a potential explosive on purpose, I'm ok with that.

Nope. They ain't comin' back. I asked the big guys a few weeks ago and they're now property of the Dayton Bomb Squad.

So did the big guys just write this off as a reasonable financial loss via a public service to the safety of the community?

The cost of several mods is a large chunk of money.

Well it was obviously all going to be about possible applications as an IED.
But it would have been funny if they thought China was plotting to take over the US by hiding some sort of mind control chip in their mods that they ship out abroad.

Your OK as long as you wrap your head in tin foil when using them.

I've had NCIS as well as the FBI visit my house in the past 10 years. In both instances, they came to confiscate an item I legally purchased on eBay, which turned out to be stolen. In both cases, they gave me a evidence custody document of the items they took.

When the FBI showed up, they flashed a badge and gave me a business card. I told them to hold on while I verified their credentials. All 3 letter agencies that I know of are stored in my iPhone, so it took 5 seconds to bring up my local FBI offices phone number, which I called and verified. Both agencies did NOT have problem with me verifying.

Did the FBI give you a evidence custody document of the items they took?

Posted in photo is the actual document from NCIS when they took a $1000.00 transceiver.
