So the plumbers left a half pack of cigarettes on my front porch, and I'm tempted

Gotta admit when I saw them laying there I thought well....maybe just one. I didn't, yet. Part of what is holding me back from lighting up is remembering how bad those dudes reeked.(Ciggy smell, not plumber smell:p) I've been using my ecig for almost 5 months without one slip up and NOW I'm tempted. What's up with that? I'm going to pull some tobacco vape out and use that til I get over this big, burning desire to go out on the porch and slide one out of the pack. I think my littlle precious is going to be a part of my life for a very long time yet to come.

Or if you must then do it. This option may actually help you. Obviously something inside you still believes that the cig is needed. I am willing to bet two or three drags off one and that beast inside you screaming for one will quickly hide its ugly head and you will know how bad they really suck. BTW - in my book two or three drags does not negate the smoke free count! Best of luck

Wyatt Earp is calming things down, but why would an abandoned pack of ciggys make me want one so? Because they tore my yard up so much replacing pipes I'd smoke their ciggies to get even with them? :p

I would assume the best revenge would be to give them their cigarettes back and let them smoke, but then you're participating in murder. (LOL @ Super Drama reference)

Wyatt Earp huh?

I was just talking about this with my wife. She asked how long I planned to use the PV, and I thought for a minute, and told her about a couple of people I've known who quit smoking long ago, like 20-30 years ago. They both told me that they still had the urge to smoke, particularly when someone lit one up nearby.

So I told her to get used to it.

house mouse,
The stinkies were our "little friends" for years and that old habit/addiction, no matter how disgusting we know it to be now, pops up to tempt us and temporarily blocks all that we know to be the truth about THEM.

You did great! I mean how difficult is it to not smoke on an island of monkeys in heat (from previous posters) where there are no smokes or smokers...you had the little white death sticks in sight and you still said NO.

In fact, you did even better than that...you rationally vaped some tabacco flavored e-juice...brilliant and an inspiration to all of us who may one day be in a similar situation.

Vape On!!!!!

You did well! I still have a couple packs out in the garage that have been sitting there for 16 months. When I started vaping, I carried a pack around for a week or so, just so I wouldn't panic. I had to prove to myself that I could be around them and not be tempted to light up. Now when I see a dusty pack out in the garage, I just laugh.

i have two packs in my kitchen cabinet and I still have one in my car console. I'm so lazy I haven't thrown them out. I'm only into this a little over a month but I don't have any real cravings for them. Once in a while when I walk passed someone smoking I get a whiff and sort of think about that momentary intense high nicotine gives you. But then I think, it's not worth my lungs just for a monetary intense high. Besides, vaping a few minutes takes away any craving I feel and I enjoy the flavors so much more than smoking!
