I've been browsing around this site, and like it a lot so far.

I'm seriously thinking about switching to e-cigs. I hear some people say they're dangerous, and I hear other people say that's just the FDA, because they're ...... that they don't regulate them. *sigh*

There are literally HUNDREDS of companies, and I looked at a bunch, but it might as well be in ancient Sanskrit, for all I understand.

Ideally? I'd like decent battery life, that will last 12 hours. I don't even know if this is possible.

I'd like the least amount of parts, because I'm clumsy as hell and am likely to break something with too many parts.

I'd like a pink one, but that's just because I'm a girly-girl.

I'd like one that I can possible refill (unless it's a pain, like trying to refill a printer cartridge yourself).

I don't know what sites are a rip-off and which ones are good. I found a site that is really priced well, but I don't know if they're good or not. I won't post the site, because I don't want anyone to think I'm some sort of shill, lol.

Is there like a...step by step guide to getting started? I'm just so...lost. :(

I never suggest anyone buying from a company that isn't a member of the forum. (see http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-cigarette-suppliers-forum/ ) I also suggest buying from within the US. The last thing you want is for your first order to get stuck in customs.

If you want LONG battery life go for a mod type. There is one that's pink actually. I forget what it's called but it's a screwdriver type mod but PINK. (I don't like pink so I just laughed and moved on when I saw it) I think there is a link to it from the womens room if you want to poke your head in there and look around.

There isn't really anything that's terribly difficult to refill, usually just a matter of putting in the liquid, maybe popping off a cap before hand, nothing too terribly fancy.

There's a sticky in the top of the new members forum...
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...gh-5-6-please-do-not-post-here-thank-you.html

it has tons of info that they put a lot of effort in to. You should have a better basis of understanding after you run through it.

Hiya Fataliya! I'm not certain how much of a help I can be, but a reply is a reply.

From my understanding, the FDA wants E-Cigs out because it still appeals to minors (with the attractive flavors, no smell, etc.). I mean, if I had one of these when I was underage, I wouldn't have to rush home and wash my hands with salt/lemon/soap/whatever and risk my mom catching me. But only recently did I realize how strong the afterscent is on people who just finished an analog cig.

Anyways, I can't really tell you what's the best E-cig to start with, but a top rated one for starters seems to be the 510, the M4 series, 801, and 901 (someone will correct me :] ). Plus, I'm certain you can find a pink model.

As for a type with a long lasting battery, they have modified batteries (such as the Chuck) that can last for roughly 1-2 days for heavy vapers. I'm sure you've already read that most models are the 3-piece ones (battery, atomizer, cartridge), and then the 2-piece models (battery and cartomizer).

As for refills, members here on ECF (through experiments) have found numerous ways to refill almost every model, even those that weren't meant to be. But typically, you get e-liquid or e-juice and just add to your current cartridge.

Lastly, I want to recommend a company to you, but like you said, there are dozens out there. I would go the the "Reviews" section of ECF and read about suppliers and what others had to say about them. It's pretty easy to spot who's trying to advertise and who is trying to save others from making the same mistake.

I wish you the best and hope that I could provide a little insight to your question(s). Take care!

Don't be intimidated by it all. Everything sounds so complicated here on this forum, but e-smoking is actually quite simple.

What kind of cigarettes do you smoke and how many a day? That might be a good bit of information for those to help you.

Batteries don't last long. You will have to get a few of them and keep them charged. But, it is really not that big of a deal. Don't worry about 2 piece designs or two piece ones. You won't break anything. They are all REALLY simple and easy to use.

Yeah, there are tons of models out there, but coming to the ECF is the best way to get started.

My two cents, for simple ease of use, the KR808D-1 (also branded as VK, Vapor4Life, Nebula, and a bunch of others) is pretty much fool proof. Off the top of my head there are 4 suppliers in the subforums who offer this brand of E-CIG.

It's two pieces, pretty darn easy to refill, and, from some vendors, pink is most definitely an option.

It isn't the cheapest thing out there from the starting gate, but none of the suppliers I know of who offer this product will take you for a ride.

My advice is to read the supporting suppliers subforums, ask questions and see what works for you.

And, if all else fails, try, try again. Most of us have went through a few models before finding the one that works.

Oh, I just thought of this, but if you're a visual person and want to see and hear reviews about e-cigs, Leaford on youtube.com is the way to go. He has a relatively-recent video in which he describes his top 5 favorites (and a few which are easy to use / the ones that are recommended for new users).

Again, we can't really tell you which is best, but maybe you can get a general idea on what could work best for you and your lifestyle.

Thanks all for the replies! I'll head over to the reviews section, and see if the site I found is on there.

Right now, I (we actually...my hubby smokes as well) smoke Marlboro Lights. I smoke 1-1.5 packs a day, he smokes like 1/2-1 pack a day. Right now, a carton is $45.50 (and that's with our employee discount at the tribal smoke smoke at the casino we work at), and it lasts us about 5-7 days. =(

Hi and welcome ...... I smoked 2 packs a day for 32 years ..I too wanted something easy to use and spent a lot of time on here...I decided to buy the Vapor King from Vapor 4 Life... The 1st day I used it I cut my analogs in half and continued to cut them all week I am now off analogs

The Vapor King is super easy to use and can be refilled real easy.. I have 2 batteries and just rotate them but on a general use they last anywhere from 3 to 6 hrs depending on how heavy I vape

I first sent Steve a e-mail and told him my smoking habits we talked and he recommended everything I should buy with my first order.. The Vapor King far exceeded my expectations and all the extra stuff Steve sent along with it was outstanding.... This is just my 2 cents worth

It is the only thing I have tried that has worked to get me off analogs nothing else has worked for me

Good Luck with whatever you choose
Tom

I'm thinking about this one:

(blah, can't post the link, but it's at nhalers site) It's the ultimate combo with:

* 2 Batteries (Any in stock color)
* 1 Personal Charging Case
* 1 wall charger-screw in or 1 USB Wall Charger Combo
* 5 Cartomizers,

And this....cartomizer thing is a cartidge/atomizer combo. So....what else do I need to order at first? Another pack of cartomizers? I'm still up in the air right now. =(

I've heard very good things about those models and when I tried one that belonged to another member i thought it was nice. Nhaler is a good company.

I say go ahead and go for that unit. A lot of people swear by the cartomizer designs.

Get the starter kit.
Some extra juice in various fun flavors.
If you have the money I'd suggest at least 2 more spare batteries (for a total of 4 batteries.. more if you're sharing with the hubby.. I advise at least 3 per person)
You'll want to have at least 2 chargers (I've broken them before)
And yes you'll want to get quite a few cartomizers even if you plan on refilling and reusing them.

I assume you mean this kit?

Great starter kit, for sure.

Drews cartomizers are very reasonable price wise, so yeah, I would order an extra pack for sure. Try two different flavors.

After that, it's just having fun with all the different flavors.

Good luck, and let us know how you like your stuff!

One last piece of advice, and that's post your findings directly into NHALERS subforum....a lot of regular users (myself included) don't read the new members forum often, so you will get a lot more advice and support in the subforums.

Congrats on vaping, NOT smoking.

:D

Drew (NHaler) typically ships RIGHT AWAY.. and after that you are at the hands of USPS. He's out of New Jersey, so I would guess you're talking about a couple of days.

I think you are wise for going with the KR808D-1. A nice setup for the noobie. Easy to use. Pretty much foolproof. Good vapor production.

And I think you are wise for going with Drew at Nhaler. Solid reputation and a helpful guy.

Knowing Drew, he's going to send you a sampler bottle of e-liquid anyway. But you're going to want to order more.. right away. Nothing worse than getting your first e-cig... loving it.. and then running out of cartomizers and/or fluid within the first 2 days.

When you get to that point, there are videos here on the forum about how to refill the cartomizers. Not at all hard to do!

Hi! I have been vaping for about 3 weeks after coming off analogs that I smoked for 16 years. I haven't had an analog since! I have a VaporKing, a 510, and a 901- right now the 901 is my favorite as I am experimenting with different juices. I watched both GrimmGreen and Ritalee76 on youtube and their videos helped me a lot- check them out! Good luck:D

My advice, go with a 901 or 510 to start. Don't worry about ordering from China vs ordering from the US. In reality almost none of the small packages get caught in customs. There are literally hundreds of vendors that sell these two in particular. They are the best to get started with. They are both 3 piece models.

If filling carts turns you off, then go with the 2 piece model Kr808d-1. Long name and it goes by lots of other monikers. Check out Nhaler and Vapor4life. They're both good US vendors of the 2 piece model. Can't go wrong with either and they're both located in the US.

In all honesty, I'd recommend the 2 piece from those vendors to get started for ease of use and closest to real cig performance. Pick up a bottle of e-juice with your order and fill your cartomizers up when they start to taste burnt. You'll get the hang of it quickly. At that point do some more research and decide if you want to take the plunge on a different model or mod.

PS. Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions.

I've been vaping since sat, I'm deffinately not well versed or an expert. I was recommended to "Arno" at awesomevapor. com. My first order arrived in 48 hours (this just blew me away). Everything was as stated, worked perfectly and has been the BEST
alternative to smoking I have ever experienced, period. I would reccomend you spend some time sorting through flavors, I expected to be stuck on "tobacco" flavors but found other flavors (with nicotine) far more pleasurable.
