I have A Halo Triton Kit as well as An MVPv2. Halo was where I started. First thing to do is replace the coils with the lowest Ohm you can get from the Halo Website. That will improve you vaping experience with the Triton tremendously. Made a big difference to me anyway. The advantage to the MVP is adaptability with Watts and Voltage to different juices and tanks. The thing I dont care for with the Halo is the threading. it is different than 90% of the tanks out there. Just their preference but most shops sell the ego threaded items and dont carry the 808 that halo uses. This means you have to order the parts for the Halo. Good Luck and Happy vaping.

You don't always want lowest ohm. I may be wrong as I'm fairly new but doesn't that make for a hotter vape? In which case certain flavors (Belgian cocoa, fruit flavors) wouldn't be good unless you have a vv and can dial it down

The Halo Triton is an excellent simple system. The tanks are very similar to a Kanger T2 and work great, IMO. I have had no problems whatsoever with anything. Batteries are excellent. You CAN rebuild the coils and replace the wicks. I bought the Triton system to see if I could quit smoking. I have not smoked a single cigarette since. Not one. It has been almost 6 months now. Keep in mind that I smoked for 25 YEARS. Halo has great tasting liquids, too. I have moved on to DIY liquids but I will forever recommend Halo products. If it is good enough to get my stubborn mind to quit smoking, it must be pretty good! ;)

Halo Triton stuff is OK except for one thing: The threading on their stuff is like Sony Betamax or HD DVD; a standard that lost the battle. If I had known that when I started, I wouldn't have bought their gear because it isn't compatible with anything I've bought since.

Halo's liquids are very flavorful, but they're heavy on the PG and the more I vape, the more I prefer liquids with more VG and less PG.

One interesting thing about the Triton is that it IS compatible with their smaller G6 system, meaning that you can use the G6 cartos and mini tanks with the Triton batteries. There is also an excellent variable voltage Triton battery available. So just stick with Halo products and all is well. Why would they want their stuff to be mixed with a competitor's hardware anyway? Makes sense to me! ;)

I've been using my Halo Triton for a week now. Have not encountered any usage issues. Vapes well, as well as my limited experience tells me. I ordered the Halo Tobacco Sampler and bottle of Southern Classic - have tried them all at this point and haven't found ANY that I don't like. About ready to try their Gourmet (dessert) Sampler and broaden my tasting experience. Will I move on to another style of PV - probably. But for now, the Triton works and works well. Haven't had an analog since I opened my Halo package.

That works fine until you discover that other stuff out there simply vapes better than a Triton tank. So you buy a couple of mini Protank 2s, or some iClear 16s, or any other topper that's current 'industry standard' and find it doesn't work on the nice Halo VV batteries that you've already ordered (but haven't even arrived yet). Yeah, been there, done that. :(

So that people like me (who started with Halo gear) don't have to tell others that they should probably NOT buy it?

Not everyone here is aiming for bigger and better. A lot of us find something we like and stick with it, and a lot of people are brand loyal. If it works for you great, if it didn't that's fine too. But no need to be condescending because someone's opinion is different than yours. I have personally tried protanks and I clear 16 and 30 and all I got was leaks and headaches, so no, no one thing works for everyone

This.

I started with a Greensmoke setup and frankly if I could have bought them for $10 per five pack I might still be using them. Without anything to judge them against they seemed to work well -- I liked the flavor, great throat hit and nicotine effect and dead simple to use.

I much prefer what I use now, but I'd wager that I'm break-even money wise after buying a few eGo batteries, clearos and heads, and other misc. parts in search of a more perfect vape versus just sticking with the Greensmoke setup and their cartos.

I'm split 50/50 between carto tanks (at home, in the car) and 808 auto batteries at the office and client sites where I stealth vape.

Yes it causes to burn hotter. I smoke a 70/30 or higher VG/PG liquid so the heat helps with the thicker VG liquid. But it is for sure a personal preference. To each his own and the liquids will dictate heat. That setup is just what suits me. I dont smoke many fruity flavors I am a caramel, vanilla, and tobacco flavor profile.

I realize no one thing works for everyone, and that's probably the best reason NOT to start out buying gear that isn't compatible and interchangeable with other gear. Halo stuff got me 97.5% off cigs, but to for me to stop having that one last cig a few hours after I got up in the morning took gear that produced more vapor than the Halo stuff could, and I had to buy new batteries as well as new tanks to make that happen.

Are Halo's Triton tanks reliable, easy to use, free of leaks, etc, etc? Yup. But if Halo actually wants to foster brand loyalty instead of frustration, they need to offer people an upgrade path from their basic Triton tanks to something better.

If you're wanting upgrades, they also sell vv batteries and smokeless image sells a huge variety of clearomizers with the same threading, they're exactly the same as ego or 510 styles (aspires, I clear, nano, t3, etc) the only thing I have yet to find is a glass clearomizer, but the juices I use aren't tank crackers so I personally am OK with that
