It was about nine years ago I got myself a ecigarette for Christmas. This year I was given an Ember Coffee Mug. This thing is supposed to keep your coffee temperature regulated while you are drinking it. You really got to have a sense of humor these days. For instructions you get an coaster size sheet of color codes for the light on the mug. On the other side some warning about hot liquid and not microwave the mug. Then you also get an coaster size 8 page booklet in English and French. This tells you about FCC warnings, I guess so you don't crash a plane or interfere with a pace maker. A child warning, damaged cord,ect... That's it.

So you pull this prize out of the box. You got enough information to turn it on from the instructions on the coaster. The lights blink and flash it comes on and it works, it keeps coffee warm, great until... The Red light comes on, plug in the charging disc sorta favors our bluetooth phone charger. Put the mug on the disc, nothing happens only the solid red light, it's not flashing to indicate it was charging. So I go online and read what I could find from the company. Finally I go on Youtube and what is my problem. I got the charging disc upside down. So you are still with me, here's my question. If you can build a coffee mug, that will regulate temperature, and communicate via bluetooth, how come you can't print some simple instructions.

so now I got the charging figured out, now I got to pair the mug to my phone.

I got an Ultrasonic Cleaner! It actually arrived the day before Christmas, which I was NOT expecting. I am going to have a TON of fun with that thing (vaping and otherwise).

The husband got me new pajamas and a robe, and I LOVE THEM. Haven't gotten new sleepwear in ages :)

The husband got everything he needs to start vaping, and I hope he becomes happy about it (what with the food poisoning, I just placed it quietly on his dresser... I'll help him start once he becomes coherent again, LOL).

My wife and I gave each other new laptops for Christmas. Lenovo 17" with Intel i5-7400U processors, 8 gb ram, 1TB SATA hard drives. Hers was an older laptop than mine and was really laggy. Mine was a couple years newer, but beginning to get slow and jerky scrolling web pages. Both were 5 to 7 years old. Windows 10 gave them both a tough run for the money and It was time for new hardware to surf ECF! ... old eyes need bigger displays!

Among the gifts we exchanged, I bought myself a new Eleaf Invoke ( new dual battery mod that's really compact). I also bought Janet (wife) a new Nikon Coolpix Camera and she bought me a new 10" Kindle. We both had a blessed Christmas. Our house is the focal point for Christmas Eve and for Lunch on Christmas day. Family age ranged from 6 months old to 88 (Mom). It was a great time for all and we are both thankful for family and friends.

I especially consider my ECF friends as part of my extended family. Merry Christmas to all of you!

For the backstory on my techie gift. My daughter in law who gave me the mug, is super techie. She is always ragging about my old stuff. My truck, lawn mower, fishing rod, you know all the stuff an old man gathers in a lifetime, it's all in fun. One of things I have she may kill for, is my grandmothers, 3rd generation set of Griswold cast iron pans. So to keep her from knocking me off early, I gave her a set of Field cast iron pans (a near copy of the Griswold). So Mr Old School can still bring joy to a sweet pretty girl. Oh, the mug is great I highly recommend it.

Ultrasonics are great. I use mine mainly to clean fountain pen parts, nibs mostly, and now and then my wife makes me clean her jewelry.

I've been threatening to buy a new UC to replace my small jewelry cleaner. You can't beat them for cleaning the oil out of new atomizers. A squirt of dish soap and a slosh of 91% alcohol in the water and you're ready to go. More power equals less cleaning time. My little 15W cleaner needs a start button press every three minutes for about 30 minutes to really do the job. I'd like to have one that does the job in ten minutes or less.
