Many juice makers create the juice when you order it.

There are a few factors that cause you to need steeping. Complex flavor juices need time to properly blend. vaping on one of these will often produce a vape where one flavor is too dominant because it has not fully blended. Another cause could be the PG/VG ratio. VG heavy juices tend to be very thick. This alone makes it harder for flavors to blend evenly.

I have tried the hot water method and it seems to work pretty good for some simpler, and thick juices. Boil water (or nuke it) then take it away from the heat and set your bottle in it until it cools back to room temp. I have done a variant of this myself and it helped.

I am sure someone here can provide a better method or concise argument though.

Sometimes a little time in a dark, cool place causes different components of a flavor to blend a little better or mellow out. Some stuff is perfect right out of the mail.

I like to try a little bit of anything new and if it isn't absolute love at first vape give it a week or two. Sometimes I take the caps off for a couple hours.

Not something you need to do but it can be fun and interesting to see how complex flavors age.

Steeping is why spaghetti sauce, or chili gets better after a few days. Flavors need time to "mingle". Steeping is not necessary with mass-produced juices, since most of their inventory rests for quite some time before being consumed. Many custom juice makers however, create small batches "to order"... these need time to steep; sometimes for days- sometimes for weeks! The idea of steeping might not make sense, but I have found the results to be measurable.

I do find a big difference in them if I uncap them for a day. I tried some Pineapple Peach when it came it and it was pure perfume. I uncapped it for a day and tried it again and it was nice and sweet. Uncapping allows the alcohol that is in some flavorings to evaporate and take away that perfume smell.

What I do is keep one big order ahead so I have plenty to vape while the other big order goes into my steeping box for a couple of weeks. I know its a pain but well worth it. If you want ready to vape juice then You can go to Tennessee Tobacco E Cigarette Juice, What Is The Best E Liquid They started making their juice in batches so its ready to go when you get it. But you can't customize your pg vg ratio or add flavor shots. Just the nic level.

I personally have to date not found one juice that gets better with age. IMO they tend to drop off in flavor the longer they sit. Steeping to me is a complete waste of time as I believe that a juice should taste great right out of the mailbox. We shouldn't have to wait for a juice to "Ripen" at the price (plus shipping) that we pay for the stuff. If it ain't great right out of the mailbox, then it ain't for me.:2c:

There are a LOT of flavors which are great right as soon as you get it. For example, Mount Baker Vapor's "Mudslide", "Cinnamon Roll", "America" and a number of others are perfect just as soon as you get them. However, with time the tastes will get a bit more ... what's a good word? Interesting? I can tell you one thing, if you keep Cinnamon Roll uncapped for a few days, then let it sit for two weeks, you'll notice a dramatic difference in color and taste. You get more of a dough flavor with vanilla after a few weeks, while when you first open it and have a go, it's more cinnamon. The same goes with their "Green Apple". Right out of the bottle, you can vape it, but give it a few weeks it turns a sort of green color and the taste is much better.

I have two bottles from Alice in Vapeland which I'd initially liked, then sort of lost interest in quickly; Punkin' Tumble and Bandersnatch. At first, perhaps 5 days after I got them, I dripped then used in my ProTank and I liked them. Went back a week later, and it was very "meh". On a whim, I tried them both a few days ago, and it was a totally different story. Much more banana in the Bandersnatch, and I could really taste the pumpkin in the Tumble. A few of my other regular vapes are from Mom n' Pop (Pchela's Poison for one), and as soon as I get them, I uncap and let them sit in a small bowl of boiling water, poured in as high as it can go without tipping the bottle. I repeat that 3-4 times, let it sit over night, and bam. Ready to go. But if I can be patient and just let them sit on their own, about 2 weeks it's much, much darker and the flavor is far better.

Yeah, I'm impatient, and HATE having to wait to use my new juices :D But you know, much as I used to be skeptical, it's true. They really do want some time to sit. I don't know if it's the nicotine settling in to the juice, if it's the alcohol evaporating or what it is, but you're so much better off letting it sit for a while.

Hmmmm.... I didn't expect another layer of complexity to trying to find new juice's. Oh well I guess I will figure it out as I go along. Thanks for the info everyone.

I can't say that I have ever noticed much of a difference with steeping, but others obviously do.

I have been vaping a little over a year and last week I cleaned out my juice supply. I had a TON of juices from maybe 5 different vendors. I don't know how long juice is supposed to last but I tossed at least 1/2 if not more of my juices because they had lost their flavor. Not changed, just.... nothing!

I have a thread right now about my juice funk, which prompted my "clean out" - but I can still tell if a juice has flavor or not.

I store them in dark glass vials, in a drawer.

I found this odd as I have read juices can last a long time, and yet some of the juices I tossed were not that old.

I am in the process of trying new vendors, new juices - I am going to pay more attention to steeping this time around.

Once again, this topic makes absolutely no sense to me. Fresh or not, letting a bottle with the cap on sit for days, weeks, months... seriously? If its fresh you let it sit for a day or whatever to let it air out with the cap off, ok MAYBE... but getting a bottle in the mail from a vendor who has had the same bottle just sitting on the shelf for possibly days, or weeks and then throwing it on another shelf? I'm sorry but I'm not a believer of this voodoo magic type deal... until there is evidence to back it.

Well that has been my experience too, I have never noticed a flavor "changing". But I don't claim to have any type of "refined palette". I've always just thought I'm missing nuances that others can taste.

We are not talking about liquids that are sitting around waiting to be sold, we are talking about liquids that were made to our specs and shipped immediately to us. If your buying liquids where you don't get choices of PG/VG and/or limited nic strength, chances are those have been sitting for long enough to have been steeped before you receive them.

I wish I had taken pictures of mine fresh and steeped. The next time I order, I will make sure I do just that. There is a visible difference.

Most vendors that are mainly ejuice sellers mix the juice up special for you with love in every drop. Thus when you get it, the flavors need some time to mingle and settle down.

As far as a brand like DeKang or Hangsen, this is what you are referring to. Even with these brands, they come to you completely sealed, so they also take some time to steep.

We are people that have been doing this for some time. This is not some voodoo or theory. It is something that all of us have experienced first hand. Most vendors will even say their juice tastes best after a week or more. Look at websites from popular eliquid vendors. I see it on at least 3/4 of the juice vendors' websites.
